Uses
Indicated to provide relief from itching caused by inflammation, seborrheic dermatitis, insect bites and other minor skin irritations.
Possible Side Effects
Due to reported effects on the stomach lining, Hydrocortisone can result in stomach ulcers. Never use it with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. As with other Hydrocortisone should be avoided when fungus infections, liver or kidney impairment or stomach ulcers are present. Other adverse effects are increased appetite, increased thirst, weight gain and dull hair coat. Muscle weakness, liver damage and behavioral changes can also occur.
Drug & Food Interactions
Hydrocortisone may interact with other medications. Consult with your vet to determine if other drugs could interact. Drugs may include aspirin, insulin, ephedrine, estrogens, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and certain diuretics.
Precautions
Always wash hands after application or wear gloves when applying. Avoid contact with eyes.
