Picky eater loves it!

After trying all kinds of food, I finally tried this. He not only gobbles it up, but he barks for his dinner. First time he ever got excited about food.

This food is interesting. I have a larger dog, so at best this could be a food topper, or maybe a treat. We tried it both as a topper and as the main dish, and my pup was happy to eat it either way, but looking at the available bag sizes, I'm not sure it would be a good value on the regular unless my dog required an extremely limited diet. That said, he is allergic to chicken, so having protein options that aren't just chicken meal in a trenchcoat is great. And I expect the dried nature of the product would allow it to sit on the shelf for some time without issue, if it was only a sometimes treat. Unfortunately, the dried nature of the product is one of the things my dog disliked most. Every time I mixed up a batch for my dog, he was very put off to have to wait 15 minutes to be served. (I tried making it on the sly, but he knows when I have his bowl; can't be fooled, that one.) What's more, if you don't get the ratios right, you may find yourself trying to fix it (and your pup waiting even longer to eat). Both my husband and I prepared this food a few times. I would not recommend the 1:2 food to water suggested on the bag, as it came out WAY watery everytime. 1:1.5 was better, but the last part of the bag was prepared nearly 1:1 and seemed just fine. I suppose the goal is to pad the food with as much water content as possible to seem like a larger volume? But my dog doesn't have issues drinking water like our cats might, so I don't see the point in passing my dog a food he can splash in. The appearance was not for us either. Maybe because our bag had so much dust, the food post-hydration just looked like slop. The instruction video had me expecting much less dust than we actually got. I wonder if we could also just use it dried? A treat/topper, without the hassle? I can't see myself trying a rehydrating meal again right now.

Very powdery

I was expecting larger pieces, what is in the bag are tiny pieces and powder. Dog eats it but not every time I use it. I mix it with other dry food adding hot water

Great food, pricey for bigger dogs

The food itself when prepared looks unappealing (dog didn't mind), but smells good. Because the food does requires you to let it sit for 15 minutes we found it best

The food itself when prepared looks unappealing (dog didn't mind), but smells good. Because the food does requires you to let it sit for 15 minutes we found it best to prepare ahead and keep in fridge until feeding time. We added a little warm water after removing from fridge and feeding to our dog. Our dog loved it and ate every bite, she can be picky at times so this was a thumbs up. Liked the fact that this didn't contain any chicken products (she has allergies). The biggest issue is the price. The bag only lasted 2 and a half days, because our dog is an Irish Wolfhound (Giant Breed).

I’ve been trying to incorporate raw into my pup’s diet but there are definite challenges that go with it. I’ve been trying out dried complete raw or lightly cooked options so I have a backup or for travel. My pup liked this one (although he wasn’t as excited as he is for raw food that hasn’t been dried) and I have no major complaints about it. The suggested higher amount of water made it extremely sloppy so if you feed in a feeder toy be prepared unless your dog is a very tidy eater. The biggest down side is that a bag this size only makes about two full days of food for a 50lb pound dog, which is a problem with a lot of dried options.

My Dogs Went Nuts For This Food

My dogs LOVED this food. We used it as a topper on their food. It is very easy to reconstitute, and it’s super convenient you can make up to 4 days worth at a time

Just opening the bag for the first time had everyone going crazy, including the cats. This is something we’ll keep feeding when they need a little extra.

Great food topper

This is great as a food topper, would not agree that this amount could feed a larger dog but maybe great for a smaller dog! It does puff up quite a bit when rehydrated

This is great as a food topper, would not agree that this amount could feed a larger dog but maybe great for a smaller dog! It does puff up quite a bit when rehydrated but the pieces are still quite small so this would be ideal for a senior. This stuff smells like a ranch packet! The dogs love it as a food topper and a little added treat in the morning. The feeding instructions are super clear and are very easy to follow.
