We started buying this because it had glucosamine in it and we were buying pills for our golden. So far so good. But her weight increased and as someone else said she is shedding a little more. We are going to stick to it and see if anything changes. Could be the weather.
I tried several different dry foods, but she ate them half-heartedly. She's getting old, so she needed some glucosamine. She would spit the pills out, so I tried liquid. Didn't get much down her, but got it all over both of us. Finally, I found a food that she likes and she gets her glucosamine at the same time.
I have 2 fur-babies, an Aussie that weighs 40 lbs and a wired hair chihuahua that weighs 5 lbs. Plus I feed the neighbor's dog and he is a chocolate lab and weighs about 70 lbs. All 3 of these pets Love Iams food. My little 5 pounder takes the kibbles and carries them around the house to hide before the Aussie can "scarf" them down lol. I love that I have it on auto delivery and don't have to run to the store to get them food. Great job Chewy for providing this product and your auto delivery services!
I switched my pittie to this food from purina pro plan (the brand my moms dog eats for her sensitive stomach) because it is cheaper while still being healthy. He loves it, but his shedding went from nonexistent to hair all over the place. I am not 100 percent sure this is due to the food, but we will be switching.
I found this piece of metal in the bag of dog food. Now I'm scared to feed her this but it's all she'll eat as long as I put hamburger chicken with it. I'm still buying lines but I checked every handful. Chewy is one of the best places you can get your items from but always look in their food. I'm not saying it's chewy fault but you don't know who out. There is ignorant enough to put in an animals food from the factories. I would still recommend the product. But it can happen in any dog food. I'm only putting this here so everyone can keep an eye out. I was so shocked so just always look at what you're feeding your dog. Sorry I don't want to come off rude and if it sounds that way I apologize.
Neighbor has a huge dog. His coat is shiny. My dogs loves to visit for their treat of this. They're chi and chi mix. They're little loving this food. I hope their coat gets shiny like their buddy.
I love Iams dog food, have been using it for all our rescues and they seem to love it too. I also get the wet food too and add some to the dry dog food. In our rescues we had one a mutt who lived to be 23 years, another Belgian Malinois who lived 16&1/2 and our newest is 5 years old with no health problems. I am pretty sure the Iams diet kept them going.
Just changed back to iams fed for first 2yrs then changed food. Only to give a change.
Our Son, says Iams large breed for his Support Dog Charlie a 1 1/2 year old German Shephard loves this food as he was a rescue and trying to give him the necessary nutrients and protein that he needs, his Vet recommended it and it is what he raised his Black Lab Reagan on and lived to a wonderful age of 13 years old.
Our dog wolfed down the new food but he has slowed down a little bit and it slower. I think he likes this new food better.
