These are a little harder than salmon roll, but still not as hard as a rawhide...my shih-tszu babies like these too!!! And chewed a few hours...can be a little messy...

    Yummy, Healthy, & Sustainable!

By Sasha on May 16, 2021

These chews are in my top 3 for sure, and I have tried a LOT. The texture is kind of similar to a bull stick in that it gets soft after being exposed to saliva for a while, which is a good thing because it means it’s easily digestible and there’s no risk of tooth fracture like with horns, dense bones, etc. They take my dogs a good 15 minutes and seem to really satisfy those chewing urges. I have a Jindo and a Golden Retriever. The smell doesn’t bother me at all but it bothers my mom who is more sensitive to smells. If it bothers you just feed it outdoors. I make my dogs lay on a towel to chew them so they don’t get any residue on my carpets. I will say they do not look exactly like the picture These chews are in my top 3 for sure, and I have tried a LOT. I make my dogs lay on a towel to chew them so they don’t get any residue on my carpets. I will say they do not look exactly like the picture. The inner portion is very tightly packed together like in the picture while the outer portion is just one long fish skin wrapped more loosely around it. This is actually a benefit for me because I unwind the looser outer layer and give it to my smaller dog, and give the larger, denser inner portion to my larger dog. The single layer outer skin is still quite thick and takes time to chew (it’s basically the same product as the individual Icelandic+ cod skins but longer). … more

    Healthy alternative chews

By Cody on Apr 2, 2021

Our Shiba, Cody is sensitive to many meat products limiting his snack treats to natural fish ingredients. The Icelandic Cod Chew Sticks are a healthy alternative and one that he really enjoys.
