My boy loves the cod but just an FYI - about 1/2 the bag are small pieces. I was about to purchase again today but just realized that the price has shot up 25% since two months ago. At almost $50 for a 16 oz bag, I'll have to pace this out. I would normally purchase every few months but will now make it only a twice a year purchase.
My pup typically loves cod skin treats, and I've purchased the smaller size in the past. I thought this might be more cost-effective, but most of the bag has little pieces and slivers, with a few large square pieces. I can break them apart to make it work but was disappointed with this purchase.
These are great.....a small and healthy treat for your pup
There isnt a uniform size for all pieces, some are an inch or two wide and others are 8 inches and thicc.
Not cheap, but this is a delicious treat. My dog and a neighbor dog love it, but the pieces were too crispy for two neighborhood cats. This as another great use for the tons of cod caught in Nordic waters.
Very costly. Big pieces on top. Nothing but scraps at the bottom
The package says strips. These are cut chunks of dried fish skin. Fine for small dogs, not what I thought we were getting.
The very first bag we purchased was excellent. Nice big pieces, as shown in the photo. The last 3 have been bits. If you can even call them that. We have a Husky who is on a very strict diet and loves them. However we have to give her a handful just to make a good strip. Not worth the $$.
I only purchase single ingredient treats for my dog so this was a winner. He likes it and sometimes just bites off the edges and chews them a bit at a time. It is a good alternative to higher calorie treats.
So I am constantly buying fish tunes trying different brands. Both my dogs usually love them. But with this bag only one of them will eat them. My other one that was crazy for anything fish won’t touch them. They’re pretty smelly. Which usually is a good thing but in this case not.
