    Hard to open

    By on

I agree with some others who wrote reviews that this container is hard to open. I kept splashing the gravy on myself. The first time I got it in my eye. I'm a vegetarian so it was very unpleasant to say the least. Then I tried slicing around the foil top with a knife and cut my finger. If my kitty really loved this I'd hire someone to open it for him :), but he didn't seem too thrilled with it. He ate it, but he eats anything. He didn't eat it with his normal gusto and left a lot. I gave him about 5 tubs of the food and gave the rest to the rescue where I adopted my kitty.

    Don't buy.

    By on

For an 80 year-old woman, these were too hard to open. They moved all over the floor when the cats tried to eat out of them. My cats no longer like Instinct's chicken in cans; I hoped that they would like this one. They were not enthusiastic. I am giving the rest of my order to my daughter who has smaller cats.

Closest you will get to their old "Pride" line

    By on

My cat's favorite food was Instinct's Pride line. It was the best, quality wise. This food resembles their Pride product. Moochie enjoys it.

    Two of our cats like

    By on

We have 3 cats and one is very picky, but the other two do like this okay. Since fairly expensive compared to other brands, we will probably not buy again.

    Bring back Pride by Instinct!

    By on

I agree with the review by MM10CAT titled "This is not totally comparable to Pride by Instinct". I couldn't have said it better so I will keep my review short. I have a cat that would ONLY eat Pride She loved the duck and now they don't have duck in this package. I tried the rabbit and she'll eat that. I am ordering the chicken now and I hope she'll eat that. I have 3 cats and luckily the one eats anything, the other 2 are extremely picky. The other problem as I saw in other reviews, these are really hard to open. I didn't think of using pliers but going in my husband's toolbox so I have them to open these. I'm at the point that I am going to have to try other foods to get one that they all I agree with the review by MM10CAT titled "This is not totally comparable to Pride by Instinct". I am really disappointed that Pride was discontinued. Chewy is great so this review has nothing to do with their service! … more

Good for cats that don't like pate

    By on

My cat is finicky and will not eat any brand of cat food that is finely ground into a pate. I have also tried several brands of flaked and minced meat and Instinct is the one brand that she loves. Her favorite was the flaked chicken, but since that was discontinued, I nervously tried giving her this minced recipe and she loves it! (The only reason I am not giving a higher rating is that the I find the peel back lid to be very difficult to open; I don't want to yank too hard and have the food come flying out, so it takes a slow and strong hand to peel this container open.)

    A hit with my two

    By on

I have very picky cats. One of which would have a rash after eating certain food. This food is delicious! According to my cats. They lick their bowls clean.

finicky cat gives it a paws up

    By on

My finicky forever foster cat used to love instinct’s pride cat food, but after they discontinued it, I switched him to this food and he loves it. It’s the only thing he’ll eat.
