Does Nature's Variety source any of their ingredients from China?

Nature's Variety is committed to using high quality, safe ingredients from government-inspected facilities. The natural ingredients are continuously inspected for quality and tested for analytical compliance before being accepted at their facilities. They do not source any of the meat or poultry from China. All of the poultry and pork come from the U.S., the beef is from the U.S. and New Zealand, lamb is from the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand, venison is imported from Australia and New Zealand, and the rabbit is imported from France and Italy. They are very stringent in their sourcing standards and prioritize building close relationships with the vendors. The only ingredient that may come from China, depending on the sourcing availability elsewhere, are the vitamins and minerals.
It looks like Nature's Variety has changed its packaging to include the motto "The Raw Brand." Is this cat meat raw now? It's not at all clear.

The meat is not raw in the food, the Raw Brand is just the motto stating their food is all natural.

This has changed…not for the better

The recipe has to have changed. Our sweet little girl cat will no longer eat this. She used too. She won’t even touch it when we tried to mix it with other food she likes. Tried several cans out of the case, just in case it was just one can. But unfortunately not. We even gave an unopened can of it for our neighbors cat to try it. That also received a 4 paws down rating. :( Not left with much confidence in this brand anymore. Although this is the turkey she has refused to even eat a nibble of, there are times we’ve had a case of the rabbit as well that we could tell she wasn’t wild about it. She’d eventually get it down, but sometimes only if I spoon fed her! Like she didn’t want to disappoint me and eat anyway. But she won’t even do that with the turkey. Not sure what they do/did too it that one case would be edible, but the next case would not be. Feels like a gamble purchasing this product.

They won't touch it.

Okay, I'll take responsibility for trying to save a little money and a few bunnies. I gave this blend a try hopeful that it could go into rotation at our house. After weeks of trying every conceivable con to get this into my cats gullets, neither will even consider it. Then I gave it to a friend for her cat. He won't eat it either. It's this flavor. They eat the rabbit but want nothing to do with the turkey.

Turkey....

I was hoping my cats would like this...and they did, for about a day. Then, they won't touch it. I'm at my wit's end to find something wholesome and good for them, and then, they won't eat it. Very annoying.

Wish cats liked it

Love the idea of limited ingredients, wish my cats liked as much as I did. They wouldn’t finish the food, now refuse to eat it all.

wrong ingredient list not made in usa

The ingredients listed here aren’t the recipe on product actual received. Also they are no longer making this in the United States as also listed, now made in Indonesia.

Product origin

I am not happy about it being stated made in USA and meats sourced from Australia, New Zealand and USA but on the case package it says product of Thailand.

New recipe is AWFUL

My cat has IBD. It took me months to find a food he could tolerate and the food that we settled on was Nature's Instinct LID. This, combined with prednisolone every 2-3 days worked for us for several years. Then, this past spring (spring 2022) Casper began getting sick again. This sickness coincided with visible changes in the Nature's Instinct LID food (the only food he ate). Even raising his dose of prednisolone to daily,, he was still vomiting and having diarrhea. People weren't buying this food for its great price (since its price definitely isn't great) or because kitties liked the taste. We bought it because it was suitable for kitties with digestive issues/ sensitivities. It is so frustrating that Instinct changed the recipe. Now, I'm back to searching for new foods for my IBD kitty. Looking at other reviews, its obvious this change didn't sit well with more cats than just mine. Instinct lost my trust and my business. STRONGLY suggest avoiding this food!

different recipe & smells spoiled

Disappointed the company changed the product recipe and cans - the food smells spoiled, the cans are thicker metal cans without the white protective lining, there’s also less food in the 3 oz. My cats got sick from eating and I switched to blue. Chewy should have notified customers about the drastic product change! It’s not good for cats. I was an instinct customer for more than 5 years up until now. Disappointed.

My cat refused to eat it…

Bean loves their chicken and duck recipes, but would not eat this turkey one. It looked like good food, and my friends cats liked it (we gave them the cans Bean had left to not waste it), but it’s definitely not a fan favorite.
