The Raw Difference

Unlike traditional, cooked pet foods, raw pet food retains more important antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals that are key to helping your pet live a healthier life. Common changes noticed by pet parents who feed raw include better digestion, improved skin and coat, improved weight, relief from food sensitivities, and increased energy and vitality. Feeding as little as 20% raw as part of your pet’s diet can have a positive impact on your pet’s life.

What is the Montmorillonite Clay source and purpose?

Answer by ChewyFeb 18, 2021
Montmorillonite clay is used in some natural pet foods as a natural anti-caking agent. It allows high-quality pet foods to remain free of man-made and chemical agents for this purpose. In addition, it is a natural source of minerals so it may bring with it added health benefits to pets.

I have two questions. :-) First, are these patties or bites? And second, are they softer and easy to crush into powder, or hard like kibble?

Answer by ChewyAug 13, 2020
This food is formed into bites, similar to kibble. The bites may be crushed or crumbled.

Wow it's expensive

My dog is incredibly picky (husky) and currently eats the Instinct Raw Frozen food. We accidently got a bag of the freeze dried food because it was in the freezer and I didn't notice the difference, but I noticed my bill had doubled. Well my dog loves this so much she will actually clean her bowl with this. We were going to switch to the freeze dried but after some research I realized the price is basically double the frozen variety per cup. The frozen is about $25 for 11 cups of food and the freeze dried is around $50 for 11 cups of food. So 5 stars because my dog actually likes it, but 4 stars for the slightly obnoxious price. We won't be buying it regularly, just once in a while as a treat. We'll stick to frozen.

No mess and great taste!

I need a dependable high quality treat to use as a reward in training where a dropped hide or a treat falling apart in my hand would cost me a fault at scentwork

I need a dependable high quality treat to use as a reward in training where a dropped hide or a treat falling apart in my hand would cost me a fault at scentwork trials. This treat fits our need and Milo likes it - a necessary bonus!

Topper for food

I use this as a topper for my dog’s food and he loves it! He always picks this off first before he eats the rest of his food because he thinks it’s a treat

My trainer uses this food as treats; they are easy to carry on walks and the right size. When I purchased the Woof Pupsicle I had some on hand so tried them in it- they are perfect. I cook a bulk pack of chicken thighs in the Instantpot (freeze the meat for myself). It makes a lot of juice which I freeze in sandwich bags for later- about one cup of liquid will fill 8 molds. First fill each mold with 8-10 bits of freeze dried food then fill in with thawed juice and freeze. My dog gets one every afternoon while I eat my lunch, and he will bring the empty one to me when he thinks it's time. These are nice on a hot day for him. Other treats he eats in a few seconds, this keeps him busy for a few minutes. He loves these. (I was afraid they might melt on the carpet, but it's never happened)

Best Dog Food Ever!!

Besides being good for my ageing Golden Retriever, she thinks it tastes pretty and sometimes gets it as a treat!
