The bag was torn

Recieved my shipment as mentioned but didn't open until two days later. There is a big slash across the bag. I used a dull pen to open my box so it wasn't from me. I'm out of food so I guess I havw to use it. :(

Fabulous but expensive and logistically complex

My pup loved the food (and she is a bit picky). I ordered it because of the sustainability aspect and sensitive skin issues. Chewy's delivers most everywhere, but we travel a good bit and having to always plan to have enough with these small bags will be a challenge

My dog does luv to eat & roll in bugs...lol. She scarfs down this food like it's caviar! I luv the clean protein source and this bag was on sale- can't beat it! Will order the cricket formula, too. Thanks for a great, nutritious product for my fur-baby!

crumbly. dogs won’t eat it.

I hate writing reviews with low stars but this food is not great. My dog is picky but she won’t even eat this with her favorite food (tiki dog wet) on it, my moms dog who is not picky won’t even. Even my cats who will try anything won’t even taste it. It’s also super crumbly, half the bag is crumbs, although Its definitely because it’s baked and not extruded. May try to give it to my brother and see if his dog will eat it.

The best food!!

I originally picked up a bag because my girl has lots of food allergies, and I wanted some variety. This turned out to be amazing! She has chronic soft poops no matter what food, supplements, or meds I gave her until she started eating this. I have no idea why, but it makes her poops so healthy. It's worth the price, especially since I don't have to give her stool supplements or medication.

Dogs goes bonkers for this grub

I bought this bag on a whim, thinking about the sustainability of vertebrate vs invertebrate proteins. I didn't know I'd have to put a new latch on the pantry door to keep the dog from breaking in to attack her food barrel. She treats this dog food as if it were a high priced treat, and is way more excited for her meals than she ever was! I don't feed it to her straight, but mix it in with her regular kibble, and keep some handy for treats. I don't know what the magic ingredient is, but the dog approves!

Pricey, but they liked it - wish it had higher protein levels

Both of my Australian Shepherds found Good Grub kibbles very tasty additions to our food rotations. In the past, I’ve experimented with adding straight, dried soldier fly larvae ( purchased to feed outdoor insect eating birds like Bluebirds and Wrens) as a topping to other kibbles, and they liked the crunchy bits, so this was worth a try. My only 2 issues: price first! Wow, this stuff is more expensive than Acana! I bought a small bag, to see how my dogs liked it (they did), and also purchased small bags of the related dog cookies (currently inside their Christmas stockings) to give it a try. I applaud the sustainability of this approach, as insect fats and proteins get metabolized the same way as those of either plant or animal origins. However, my second concern is the relatively low protein levels in the formulation. My dogs are very active, working dogs and one of my biggest challenges has always been finding foods with much higher than typical protein and fat levels, because they burn everything off and start to lose weight, condition, and stamina when fed lower protein foods. (It irks me a dog food can be called “high protein” when the analysis says 24% - inevitably meaning the food is more than 50% carbohydrates.). I will probably keep a small bag on hand to use for treat rewards and special toppers to raw meals - kind of like Lucky Charms marshmallow treats.

Boys love it

Our two Havanese dogs - brothers who are now almost 15 - have absolutely thrived on Jiminy's food! I feed them both the Good Grub and Cricket kibble, mixed with some of The Honest Kitchen kibble (because they love poultry!), along with 1/4 hard-boiled egg and some chopped greens. They are at their optimal weight, happy, energetic boys with these products! Teddy was diagnosed with Cushings disease earlier this year. Since I changed his diet he has improved so much! Can't say enough about it. Will continue to purchase! Highly recommend!!!
