The outer the ball is made of a hard plastic and the ball on the inside is made of rubber.

Do the holes in the ball get bigger with the size of the balls? Or do they stay the same for the smallest size ball as the largest ball?

The holes in each size ball do increase in size between sizes. The 4.5 inch ball has approximately 1 3/4 inch openings. The 6 inch ball has approximately 2 inch openings. The 8 inch ball has approximately 2 7/8 inch openings. The 10 inch ball has approximately 3 1/8 inch openings.

Fun toy, but poor material and design

Our dog loves to play with this toy and it appears to be pretty durable because he is more interested in pushing it than chewing on it. However, the edges of the holes quickly get sharp and he has started to hurt his mouth when playing with it. Because of this, I can only let him play with this toy infrequently and for very limited amounts of time. I wish they would coat the outer ball in durable rubber to that my dog could play with it more without hurting himself. In additionally, when he is kicking the ball around with his feet, they sometimes go into the holes. He hasn’t hurt himself yet by doing this, but I worry the it could lead to a serious injury if he did this when he was running fast and kicking the ball. Although our dog loves it, he will not be playing much with this toy.

Not for the bored in Boston

The impressive reviews gave me hope that it would occupy the interest of my spitfire JRT/Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix. It was excitedly removed from the packaging (by me, with stupid human faces and baby talk that I am forever ashamed of) only to receive ‘the look’, a grunt, a pivot and a quick exit. It has sat in the packaging ever since. I think I can return it but that just adds to my shame lol. I now know why the TX rescue named him Persnickety Petey. He is no longer named that but his nickname is Your Highness. I am giving it 3 stars and recommending it because the giant retriever next door has one and she likes hers.

Sores under chin

I wish I could love this toy as much as my dog does. It is her favorite and she carries it everywhere but it also left big sores under her chin from carrying it everywhere.. Don't get me wrong, I think the concept is fantastic but just make sure to check your pup's face!

Roscoe LOVES his Blue Jolly Ball!

The 10 inch BLUE Jolly Ball is my Airedale Terrier, Roscoe's, favorite toy! He plays with it first thing in the morning and all through the day. He will accept No substitutes. Including a smaller blue Jolly Ball or the 10 inch ball in red. This order was a replacement for the original which lasted 4 years.

Shepsky in love!

My 95lb shepsky loves this ball. He literally will not leave it alone and brought it to bed with him. He has been playing with it outside all day. We got the 8in and it was a perfect size! I hope it lasts him awhile.

She loves is, he hates it.

My Blue heeler loves this toy. 100% is her favorite. She kicks it like a soccer ball all over the house, then picks it up with her mouth to pack it around. She will pack it outside for play, and bring it back in. My aussie on the other hand couldnt care less and is super uninterested.

Great Dog Toy

My dog loves it. She plays by herself outside and growls at it and chases it around. We also play fetch with it. I roll it and she chases it and brings it back for a treat.

not for aggresive chewers

My 9 month old pocket Bully was so excited, and had a blast for about 2 hours. Then, the ball was demolished, she got to the inside ball and was cutting her jaws on the plastic..

Great Toy 4Play, Not great 4 hard chewers

I love the Jolly balls for my American Bully, but he goes through them between chewing, punching and scratching less than four days. He loves the ball, but they need to be made stronger for hard chewers.

Full Entertainment

This has been my go-to toy to entertain my 6y/o boxer-pit mix. She's a simple girl and the ball inside the ball drives her mad lol She will spend hours rolling it around, trying to put her nose inside the holes, chewing, etc. It takes her about 9-12 months before she finally chews the holes enough to get the green squeaky ball inside out. 10/10 recommend
