    rolling clamp too stiff

    By on

this is the only IV administration tubing available on chewy. while it functions fine and as expected, the roller clamp is much too stiff. i am unable to open and close the tubing with it. my husband, who is much stronger than i, has to open and close the tubing when we do the subcutaneous fluid administration for our kitty. i am a nurse and have used IV tubing for many years. i have NEVER had any problem using the roller clamp easily. this roller clamp problem makes this tubing set very difficult to use and is unacceptable.

    No lock, regular needle fitting

    By on

The description is inaccurate. It has a leur fitting, not a screw-in lock. I don’t have any trouble using this type, but occasionally it is very difficult to remove the used needle.

    Just the ticket

    By on

It's an infusion set. We use it with Lactated Ringers on an older cat with kidney problems. Works fine, and the price is right !

    does not secure a needle

    By on

You get what you pay for. The packaging may be nice, but the quality to hold a needle is very poor. This product has no security screw to ensure that a needle does not slip out or disconnect from the line. Not a good product if you have a pet that moves ever so slightly to adjust while sitting during a subQ treatment.

Does not have Luer Lock as described.

    By on

Pro: Tubing is soft, easy to handle and 'bounces back' when squeezed by roller clamp. Does not have 'Y' connector - which I do not need. Con: Does not have Luer Lock for needle as described and is the reason I ordered it - the needle slides on (does not lock with a twist) and, unfortunately, frequently slides off again when I'm trying to twist or wiggle the protective needle cover to remove it. Does not have a supplemental slip clamp or click clamp for quick, positive shut off.

    NO Luer lock!

    By on

Would be fine except, contrary to the description, there is no luer lock. Very difficult taking needle off.

Perfect for my cat's subcutaneous fluids

    By on

I decided to try this infusion set as it was less expensive than those with the port to add additional substances to the line. It also didn't require a doctor's prescription. I had a vet prescription which only called for an "infusion set" yet Chewy interpreted that prescription as being only for the brand I first ordered. I couldn't change brands without getting a new vet prescription which seemed a bit crazy since my vet hadn't specified any detail about the infusion set in her original prescription. Some have complained that there is no Luer lock... but there is what is sometimes called a Luer slip. This really works just as well. Rather than screwing down the collar of the Luer lock, I decided to try this infusion set as it was less expensive than those with the port to add additional substances to the line. Some have complained that there is no Luer lock... but there is what is sometimes called a Luer slip. This really works just as well. Rather than screwing down the collar of the Luer lock, you simply turn the needle a quarter turn and it locks in place (it is not held just by gravity or friction as some has said). I had been concerned that the shorter line would be an issue, but it actually works better for me. The flow regulator feels sturdier than the one on the more expansive brand I had previously used. … more
