I followed the recipe on JustFoodForDogs's website, which called for this supplement. My 11 year old dog went down to an ideal weight for his breed (ShihTzu, from 24 pounds to 19) and he has so much more energy. He's jumping on furniture again!

Jasper loves this food! After he gobbles it up he goes back to his bowl wanting more! We've been making it for a few months now & have cut down the prep time by precooking all of the veggies & freezing them for the next batch! It's saved us on wasting food & time for cooking day!

Much easier recipe to prepare than JFFD recipe however the whole wheat macaroni did not agree with my dog’s digestive system thoughI transitioned the food gradually. She had loose stools which subsided when I changed her diet. May have too much fiber or i tolerance to wheat.

I asked my trusted vet what he chooses to feed his dogs - he replied JustFoodForDogs DIY. The first time or two goes a little slow because you're learning the recipe, but now I just buy minerals and go to the store. If you ever see a documentary about what goes into dog food - ALL dog food - you won't think twice. I've found the cost difference to a good dry food to be negligible. We spend 2-4 hours about every 3 months for our two dogs. We also like the beef and chicken versions to mix up their tastes.

We tried both the DIY and the fresh frozen versions of this food. At first it went well but both of my dogs wound up having reactions to it after a bit. Loose stools, etc. I am guessing it is the macaroni...not sure. But I stocked up a bit on these DIY packs because it was going well...until it wasn't.
