Answer by ChewyMay 05, 2022
Please refer to the adult dog feeding chart below.

Can any other fish be used, such as Salmon?

Answer by ChewyMay 11, 2023
The manufacturer does not recommend adding or omitting any ingredients in their recipes since their nutrition specialists formulated them to be fully balanced as is; any change will make them unbalanced, which is not good for your pet in the long term.

Her fresh food provider dropped the ball on an order. So I decided maybe it would be better off if I made her food myself. I came across the recipe for fresh food JustFoodForDogs so far I made to different recipes and she will start eating it on Monday. I loved knowing it has all the nutrients she needs along with fresh food I purchased and cooked.

Feeding guide is inaccurate

I use this for my dog with IBD issues (vet recommended). He wolfs it down!! My only issue was with the provided feeding guidelines. FOLLOW WHAT THEY LIST IN OUNCES

I use this for my dog with IBD issues (vet recommended). He wolfs it down!! My only issue was with the provided feeding guidelines. FOLLOW WHAT THEY LIST IN OUNCES AND WEIGH IT OUT. DO NOT measure with a measuring cup!! When I measured with a cup my inactive bulldog lost weight rapidly. When I measure with a scale, his weight is stable. Their guidelines say 8 oz or 1 cup of food (so at 50 lbs, it says 27 oz or 3.5 cups - my inactive bulldog lost weight rapidly!!). Based on my experience, even though it says "use standard 8 oz measuring cup", their Oz column is 8oz weight (1/2 lb) and not 8oz of volume (1 cup). When I measured out the food for weight, 3.5 cups weighs significantly less than 27oz. When I contacted the company, I was told that 1 cup weighs 8oz and since the recipe makes 11 pounds it will make 22 cups of food. In reality it makes 30.5 cups. Summary: Their feeding guide for ounces is by weight (and works). They confuse weight ounces with volume ounces so their cup amounts do not work.

Great option for homemade food

I had to start making home cooked food for my dog now that he has cushions. This allows me to cook a low-fat meal, but stillget his micro nutrients.

The package of supplements that they sell on chewy‘s is affordable so we bought it. When we went to the grocery store to buy all is required to make the full batch we spent over $90 so that $90 plus the 25 for the pouch Yielded 10 days of food for my 30 pound dog. We went this route because we thought it would be cheaper, but it is absurd, and we will not be using it again. Of course my dog loved it though. How could he not?

No complaints

My dog seems to like this and costs less than buying the frozen pre-made version. She's been eating homemade food for a few years now and has several sensitivities

My dog seems to like this and costs less than buying the frozen pre-made version. She's been eating homemade food for a few years now and has several sensitivities. I blend this with another food that is lower in phosphates as a precaution because she has kidney disease.

Our Shih Tzu girl has suffered with allergies for years--chronic ear infections, yeasty smell, elephant skin and skin pigmentation, the works. After 3 months on a vet-prescribed hydrolyzed diet and significantly worsening allergy symptoms, we did some research, watched a certain documentary, and decided to make the switch. A week in to eating only her fresh food diet, her swollen ears are less inflamed, she doesn't smell yeasty, and her skin pigmentation and eyes are clearing. We're feeling hopeful that a solution has finally been found! She loves all the whole food ingredients the recipe uses, and she is part of the Clean Bowl Club for the first time. The instructions are easy to follow and with both slow cooker and electric pressure cooker instructions, it's easy to fit making the food into a busy work week. Since we get to control sourcing the ingredients, we can make her food affordable for our budget.

Easy to make.

I am now making my dog’s food additive which is the recipe that came with the blend. She loves it and she is not allergic to any of it.
