How to open:

  • Be sure tube is at bottom of pouch.
  • Using scissors, cut the pouch across the top and remove tube.

How to apply:

  • Use only on dogs.
  • Remove applicator tube from the package. Use scissors and peel down foil.
  • Hold applicator tube in an upright position. Pull cap off tube.
  • Turn the cap around and place other end of cap back on tube.
  • Twist cap to break seal, then remove cap from tube.
  • The dog should be standing for easy application. The entire contents of the K9 Advantix II tube should be applied evenly on the top of the back from the shoulder to the base of the tail. At each spot, part the hair until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the tube on the skin and gently squeeze to expel a portion of the solution on the skin. FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How is K9 Advantix II different from K9 Advantix?

With the addition of an insect growth regulator (IGR), K9 Advantix II kills all life stages of fleas. K9 Advantix II also prevents development of fleas, flea eggs, larvae (maggots), and pupae (cocoons), and prevents fleas on a treated dog from infesting your home.

What is the benefit of repellency?

Repellency helps prevent ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes from attaching, biting or feeding. A repelled parasite doesn’t bite or attach. If it doesn’t bite or attach, it can’t transmit the organisms that may cause disease.

What is the difference between K9 Advantix II and other tick and flea products?

K9 Advantix II repels and kills ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes. It repels biting flies and kills lice, too. Its repellency activity and broad spectrum make K9 Advantix II different from other tick and flea products.

Is K9 Advantix II waterproof?

Yes. There is no need to reapply the product after weekly swimming or a bath. For best results, use a non-detergent shampoo.

Can I use K9 Advantix II on my cat?

No. K9 Advantix II must not be used on cats because of a cat’s unique physiology and inability to metabolize certain compounds.

  • Doesn't work as well as what we purchased from the vet

    By on

I use this on my three huskies but am having to now change to a different flea preventative due to this not working. All my dogs scratch heavily even after I apply this topical exactly as directed. My two boys had no problems from the same brand that we purchased from the vet but when purchased here it seems the quality has gone down.

  • DOES THE JOB

    By on

We had a real tick problem with my outside German Shepherd and this completely helped! I've been using it for 7 months and the only thing I noticed was that it sometimes "wears off" a bit at the end of the month. It's been twice that I've found two or three ticks on him at the end of the month...but once reapplied, it works well! Not gonna change treatment any time soon!

  • Did not work, Item came open.

    By on

the box was already opened. I am not sure if it was a returned item. I was a little hesitant when i saw that but the tubes themselves where sealed so i proceeded to place them on my German Shepherd. Around 6 days later i noticed a brand new tick on my dog and had to remove it myself. The following day i found another tick on my dog. Ive used this product before from the pet store and never encountered this problem. I am not sure why this time it did not work on my dog. Needless to say I will continue buying Flea & Tick prevention from my local pet store.

  • Highly recommend K9advantix II

    By on

My dogs were going crazy scratching. This came on all of a sudden. Upon checking them, I found Fleas. I bathed them in Dawn to kill the Fleas. When they were dry I applied the K9advantix II and They were flea free in just a few days. It took only a few days for the fleas in the house to die. We have had no further issues. We did subsequently bomb the house to help the pets. We have a beagle and a cocker spaniel. K9advantix is a very good product. You won’t go wrong purchasing and applying this product. It truly works.

It's hard to find something that works on our GS and gets rid of the fleas and ticks but this product works pretty well. I've purchased this a few times. It's good when you can catch it on sale.

  • No instructions on packaging

I bought this product not knowing how to apply it. There was no direction on the package or inside that gave instructions on how it was to be used. I had to call the vet and it cost me $20.

While I don't like to put poisons on my golden retriever (that is why it is 4 stars and not 5--it is a poison), k9 advantix does work. I am most concerned with ticks. In New Hampshire, ticks--especially deer ticks are terribly abundant. April to June and then mid September to mid November are especially bad. The ticks are so tiny that it is impossible to find them in a double-coated dog who goes through the woods daily. K9 Advantix kills and I have noticed it seems to repel as well. My golden has had reactions to frontline, so with advantix she seems to be ok. The natural oils, etc., are not enough protection. I buy the 55 lbs and over and apply half the vial.
