K9 Natural does not test the mussels for iron, as they are intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. However, New Zealand maintains a food composition database on the typical nutritional value of foods produced in this region. Based on their data, New Zealand Green Mussels contain approximately 0.9 milligrams of iron per medium size (5 gram) mussel treat. Sodium in mussels is approximately 151.3 milligrams per medium size (5 gram) mussel treat.

This freeze-dried food is frozen raw before drying. K9 Natural wholefoods are sourced in New Zealand to the highest specifications. I had high hopes for these treats for our pit mix with joint issues. But he wants NOOOO part in the treat and will walk away when offered one. We thought it was just him so we offered the treats to two other dogs and both turned their heads, as well.

My dog loves these but too costly for the amount

My dog loves to eat these, and they provide a good source of nutrients that support joint health but at almost seventeen dollars a bag, they BARELY give you anything

My dog loves to eat these, and they provide a good source of nutrients that support joint health but at almost seventeen dollars a bag, they BARELY give you anything at all. I find these less expensive from other vendors, even at my local pet food store. This brand, in my opinion, has gotten out of hand with their pricing. I understand it comes from New Zealand but if other vendors can offer greater amounts at lesser cost, no reason why this is so pricey for the tiny amount given. One bag lasts me about a solid week, 7 days, and is just too much to justify their price. This bag should be triple the quantity for the price, in my opinion.
