Fixes Feathers!
Our birds went through the stress of moving across country and lost their bloom. We bought this to offer them the extra 'oomph' they needed to recover their plumage. So far so good and the chickens like it.

Our chickens recovered very quickly from molting and feathers are beautiful. And laying did not slow down. The yolks are beautiful color also!
excellent product
My hens feathers came in amazingly glossy and darker than ever. They look super healthy. They were used to crumbles so it took a bit for them to get used to the pellets but they did. These pellets are smaller than many competitors’ pellets.
Not Sure Why
My chickens did not like this feed. I have used other kinds of this brand. But for some reason would not eat it. And yes they are spoiled.

Honestly I’m super happy with this feed! They normally get Kalmbach’s hi omega layer feed, but two of my hens are going through a hard molt and after a few days on this feed I’ve already noticed a huge change in their appearance. They love the taste too!
Great for molting
Nothing but great things to say about this feed. Had some poor chickens going through a hard molt. Normally fed Kalmbach high omega pellets. No issue changing feeds. Within a week noticed a huge improvement in feather regrowth. With colder weather on the horizon, this is giving me piece of mind they will be ok.
Happy Chickens
A few of my chickens started molting and laying had all but ceased. They also didn't seem to be eating much of their previous brand. I was told a higher protein "feather fixer" might help. My flock LOVES this food and my hens seem happy and laying again. That part may be a coincidence but they are eating more again and are happy!
my chickens don't want to try this..
I regularly ordered two bags of "Kalmbach Feeds All Natural 5-Grain Premium Scratch Chicken Feed, 50-lb bag" for my chickens and they don't have problems feeding my chickens. This time, I wanted to try "Kalmbach Feeds All Natural 20% Protein Full Plume Feathering Chicken Feed, 50-lb bag " so ordered it with my regular chicken feed. I realized it's a mistake..I mixed it with regular feed, also I tried to feed them in the separate feeder, none of them were successful. My chickens simply don't even bother to come to close :( I'm not sure whether chicken can smell, or they just don't like the small pallet shape, but I know my chickens are not picky at all. They are cage free running out there laying eggs happily. I don't know what to do with this super heavy 50lb bag that my chickens don't like it at all....
Still scratching my head
We have been using this in breeding season and for pullets 4weeks till laying. Used exclusive with Oyster shell and rooster booster per bag. We ended breeding season with every hen broody! And boys dropped trains 4 weeks early. I'd really like non soy! But the pellet size is my birds favorite. So I'm using this brand exclusively for chicks and game birds... and will do so till November where I change bag types.
