What is the iron content of this feed?
Is it alright for mama goat to eat too or do I have to separate the little family at feed time?

While Kalmbach Feeds Start Right Young Goat Feed won’t hurt a mama goat, it is not recommended. Kalmbach recommend Kalmbach Feeds 16% Non-GMO Goat Feed for mama goats. Mature goats don’t need the energy that’s in a kid starter as well as Kalmbach Feeds 16% Non-GMO Goat Feed is non-medicated, which means that the milk can be used for human consumption.
What age range is this feed recommended for? I have 2 goats currently that are 3 months old and want to switch to a better feed when they are done with their current bag.

There are a few variables to consider when switching off of a kid feed. We suggest keeping kids on a starter feed through the creep stage and up to a couple of weeks post-weaning. The feed that you switch to depends on the type of goats that you are raising and if you are looking for a textured or pelleted feed. The Goat Grain, Goat Granola, and Milk and Meat pellet are all general purpose feeds and are great options for the next phase. Always make sure that you are following feeding rate recommendations and providing a free-choice mineral – especially when group feeding. If you are raising meat goats for show or dairy goats for milk, then there are other products that would be a better fit.

This feed is suitable for starting and growing goats.
