Description

Give your pet the benefits of high-fiber alfalfa hay in a convenient cube with Kaytee Alfalfa Cubes Small Animal Food. Small pets including Guinea Pigs, rabbits and chinchillas need hay to aid in the digestion process, keep their teeth trim and satisfy their need to chew. In fact, hay should make up 75 percent of their daily diet. Kaytee Alfalfa Cubes Small Animal Food are tightly compressed blocks of nutritious, sun-cured, sweet alfalfa hay. Alfalfa hay is an excellent appetite stimulant and the compressed cubes provide a more challenging chew than regular bale hay. Your small pet may even stack the cubes to create a nest or bed. Offer several times a day as a treat in addition to their regular hay supply.

  • Prefers the Timothy

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

I usually feed my 8yr old bun the Timothy cubes, I wanted to try these for extra calories even though alfalfa is discouraged as a main hay. Well, she hates them. They are very hard, more like a rock. Won't get these again, but she loves the Timothy version.

  • not good!!!

My bunny doesn't like these at all. He Always ends up destroying it leaving a huge pile of hay on the floor, none of it eaten. I though these would be convenient, because normal hay is so messy and such a hassle, but I never find a time when I want to use these.

  • Preggo Sow & Hungry Pups

    By on

My sow loved nibbling on these when she was nursing her first litter. I'd hand one to her while she tended to her pups and she would knaw on it. As her pups became more active, I'd put an extra one in the cage for them to knaw on as well. They loved it just as much!

My daughter has 3 rabbits, all the same breed, (lion heads) and 2 out of the 3 didnt eat any of the alfalfa cube, i also provide them with fresh timothy hay so maybe they just liked that better? it arrived on time and was fresh, just guess rabbits have preferences like all animals

  • Great snack

    By on

My chinchilla loves alfalfa, however shouldn't have it too often, so the cubes are great. The cubes are a small convenient portion to just drop in as a treat every once in a while.

  • Ok not great

Some cubes were split in half so you didn't get full cubes. However our bunny seems to like them. I'd buy them again if I needed an add on item for the free shipping.

My Guinea Pigs get a kick out of these. They seem to last quite a while and the pigs enjoy chewing on them. The Alfalfa Cubes add fun and variety to their homes!

So far Miss Rabbit is not liking these at all and won't touch them. I guess she is a picky rabbit for sure. I will put some new ones in her rabbit house and see if she eats them.

  • Good product

    By on

The bales are smaller than I thought so a bag won't last long but bunny enjoys them. I interchange them with my horses bermuda grass pellets so they last longer.
