I was excited to try out alfalfa hay for my guinea pig, Chocolate Thunder. He’s older and a little picky. He prefers softer hay but this one was a bit on the stiffer, harder side. I usually mix it with his timothy and orchard grass hay in the mornings, and while he will eat some of it, he doesn’t finish it all. Overall, the hay seems to be good quality since there isn’t a lot of dust packaged with it, which is a huge plus. It also smells fresh. The only downside is that it’s harder, and my pig is unfortunately picky in his old age. If you have a less picky pig, this could likely work well for you!

Too dusty

This hay is too course and very dusty. My guinea pigs will not eat all of it and leave a lot left over. The strands are not long or robust, making daily cage cleaning

My bunny is very particular about his hay. He doesn’t like hay that’s too hard and doesn’t like hay that’s feather soft but he loves this hay. I wasn’t sure if he would like it or not and I’m glad he did because having hay just sit around is frustrating. I liked the packaging and easily fit in with my animal supplies!

Bunny likes this Alfalfa Hay

Good quality. My bunny enjoyed this very much! I don’t think my bun had eaten alfalfa hay before- it did take her a few minutes but she started to enjoy it!

Not sure about this product

Buy rabbits and guinea pigs do not like it but that doesn't mean that yours won't. Good product they just won't eat it.

All stems, no leaves

This bale came and it was all stems which my rabbit didn't even eat. There were literally no leaves in this bale. Very disappointed.

Bun loves it

Our Bun loves this. The only problem is that we have a hay “holder” built into the door of the enclosure, so when he eats there is always a mess on the floor. This

Our Bun loves this. The only problem is that we have a hay “holder” built into the door of the enclosure, so when he eats there is always a mess on the floor. This did not happen when he ate “regular” hay.

The worst ever

Bought this for my litter of holland lop kits- alfalfa is high in protein for young rabbits learning to eat. The quality of this hay was HORRIBLE! I can’t even use

Bought this for my litter of holland lop kits- alfalfa is high in protein for young rabbits learning to eat. The quality of this hay was HORRIBLE! I can’t even use it as bedding- it’s all sticks. Pokes my fingers to even go in the bag. My babies will not be eating this!

Bunny treat

Great treat for my bunny. I mix it in with the Timothy hay and encourage her to eat more.
