How do you load this net

Answer by ChewyOct 04, 2021
To use, simply hook the carabiner to your horses feeding location, and fill with the preferred hay.

How is the opening secured?

Answer by ChewyJan 01, 2026
The Extended Day envelope-style opening can be secured with prepositioned carabiners, or you may also use the cords to create a single traditional drawcord closure. This net is also designed to fit on our very handy and popular frame.

Huge net, horse loves it!

This is definitely a big net, holds about six to eight flakes of hay, nearly a full bale. Once you get the string a setup it’s super easy to fill. I’d recommend

This is definitely a big net, holds about six to eight flakes of hay, nearly a full bale. Once you get the string a setup it’s super easy to fill. I’d recommend using two of the eyebolt and ring hangers on either corner and the included carabiner clips to hang it up wide and horizontally, it makes refilling easier too as you don’t even need to take it down to add a couple flakes. Soft net that’s really durable and would definitely recommend.

Work great for my horses.

Have used for years and will not go back to hay on the ground ever! Pays for itself over time.

Pricey but worth every penny

I've been using Freedom Feeder nets for years, no damage to my horse's teeth because it's soft and knotless and they far outlast any other brand. I also love that

Large capacity but doesn't last long

These would be great if the netting was a little sturdier. Our horses destroyed them within a month.

Not working for our horse

Disappointed with this feeder. We expected our horse to be fed through two feedings, but she can eat 6 flakes over the course of 5 hours. Has defeated the purpose

The BEST hay nets!

These are expensive but 100% worth it. I have some that have lasted for over three years (granted, they are pretty ratty at this point, but completely functional),

These are expensive but 100% worth it. I have some that have lasted for over three years (granted, they are pretty ratty at this point, but completely functional), and I have different hole sizes for different horses with different needs. They hold a ton of hay and the way that I hang them, they are super easy to load. I'm very particular about quality and functionality and these are by far my favorite hay nets. Freedom Feeder also has an excellent warranty, and will replace a feeder of any age for reduced cost.
