How does the dog get in?...... dose the other side zip open or what?

This car seat does not zipper open. You will have to lift your pet and place them inside the car seat. Attach the safety lead to your pet’s collar or harness and then snap directly into any seatbelt buckle.

Is this seat crash tested?

Absolutely PERFECT

We have our swissy, Fig, who hogs the backseat and our 30lb girl Pepper ends up getting squished :( We decided to get this for Pepper to create a "first-class" feeling

We have our swissy, Fig, who hogs the backseat and our 30lb girl Pepper ends up getting squished :( We decided to get this for Pepper to create a "first-class" feeling for her where she's protected and her personal space is respected by Fig. It was a super easy setup and we've used it a few times already. Can't recommend this enough for folks that need to secure a space for their pup and make car rides much more comfortable :)

I have looked for a better way to travel with my puppy. When I saw this car seat, I thought it was worth a try. My recent trips have been great with this car seat. The small lease that snaps into my car seat lock has kept my dog safe.

Perfect in every way

I was worried that this new pet seat would be temporary and my 7mo old pup would outgrow it eventually. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised with how big it

I was worried that this new pet seat would be temporary and my 7mo old pup would outgrow it eventually. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised with how big it is! It latches to the front and back headrests so the seat stays secure and the seatbelt buckle tether keeps her from trying to wander. The sides zip from both front and back making it super easy to get her in and out. We have a big van so it’s a breeze loading her from the back and guiding her into her special seat! I put one of her blankets in there for a little extra comfort and cushion. You could even get a pet bed and put it in there if you found one with the right dimensions -but it’s just fine on its own. Snickers is currently 40lbs and I think even if she grows a bit more this seat will be just fine for her. She has plenty of room to sit or curl up and lay down if she wanted. I’m very happy with this purchase and Chewy had it for a great price compared to other places we looked!!

Had such high hopes

The part that clicks into your seatbelt doesn’t work in our Honda Pilot. The opening is too much of a rectangle and needs to be square to lock in. Buyer beware.

Great safety seat

We have used the safety tether that clicks into the seatbelt lock (recommend by our trainer) but our newest addition was still all over the place and would never relax. This car seat is the best of both worlds. Other seats we’ve tried were rather pricey and not as safe. The fact this still has the tether attached to the car and not just a clip to the tote makes me feel more confident in his safety. The enclosed walls make him more relaxed and he even laid down after a bit. You do need to make sure the front head rest loop is as tight as possible otherwise a squirmy dog with long legs may try to crawl out of his seat. The fact this also collapses for storage is a great feature. The only downside is the bottom has no cushion and the hard surface could be slippery while in motion, especially if you suddenly brake hard or take a sharp turn, so definitely plan on laying down a towel or soft mat. Overall this is a good safety solution, well made, and a great value.

Zipper kept on unzipping despite me trying to zip it up 500 times and really was annoying and unsafe during the drive. Flimsy also.

Large size fit 50 pound chocolate lab!

My 50 pound lab had enough room to even curl up and lay down! The sides are not high enough to prevent her from jumping over, but the included seatbelt attachment

My 50 pound lab had enough room to even curl up and lay down! The sides are not high enough to prevent her from jumping over, but the included seatbelt attachment kept her in the “car seat”. The large size “car seat” took up about 1/3 of the back of our GMC pickup. Met our needs perfectly!
