K&H Pet Products Orthopedic Bolster Cat & Dog Bed, Gray, Medium

It has a great bolster, but the sleeping surface is really lacking. My senior Beagle mix LOVES a good bolster. I recently went on a massive bed hunt for her because she’s going through a difficult time right now with some kidney issues on top of her usual 16 yr old arthritis that was made much worse by a hip dislocation a few years back. Her closed reduction held well but I would do just abt anything to keep her comfy, which unfortunately generally means I have to help her readjust her blankets at least 20x a day so that her head lies evenly with her body. Another bed I got for her would be perfect, except that it’s just a little too large. And the half dozen others just aren’t supportive enough anymore, sadly. This bed has a great bolster but is just not orthopedic in any way at all. Possibly a small dog may do okay with this, such as a dachshund or shih tzu, a chihuahua or some others of this size, but even with my girls recent weight loss, this bed goes right to the floor. And she’s rlly way too thin now due to her kidney issues so I can’t see this being good for other beagles either, at least not senior ones or those struggling with joint problems. Also, she sleeps in a curl style so I wanted to get something snug for her so she wouldn’t need so much help getting situated, but I think this is just a an inch or 2 too tight for her, tho that part is my own fault. She can still get in tho, but unfortunately because of how unsupportive the foam is, she’s on,y slept in it for a bit once since we got it. Will probably have to return. That said, maybe this would work well for a younger, smaller dog.
