is this ok for large dogs.

The hammock is designed so that it rests on the bench seats, so that the weight is supported by the car seats.

Does this material allow dog hair to go through it? Or is the stitching/material closed enough to prevent this?

This seat cover is made of microfiber quilted fabric. Some pet hair may gather on the cover. Washing by hand and hang air-drying is the best way to care for this cover however, you may machine wash.

will this seat cover be too big for a smaller car like a Prius?

The dimensions of the cover are 57.5 x 53 x 3 inches. We recommend measuring your vehicle and comparing your findings to ensure a proper fit.

Does this come with a way to attach the dog’s harness. In a few of the pictures it shows a clip on the harness, do I have to buy something additional for that?

This Seat Cover and Hammock does not include a seat tether. The KONG Seat Belt Dog Tether is sold separately.

Versatile, Convenient, but Misleading

This product was great at first. Easy set up, great storage compartments, and easily washed. The problem is that the reviews/answered questions indicate this product

This product was great at first. Easy set up, great storage compartments, and easily washed. The problem is that the reviews/answered questions indicate this product can handle the weight of large dogs and that's a false claim. Perhaps it's due to the size of the car I drive, that my dog likes to be close to me while I drive, or potentially that heat weakens the plastic mesh center... regardless, the first one ripped just above the lower stitching of the center mesh. Chewy's amazing customer service replaced the product without question... but the same thing happened with the second one within the same amount of time. This product has a lifetime manufacturer's warranty so I'm hoping that Kong will do something about this. I need a stronger product that can handle the weight's greater than 60lbs.

Good to start, but then...

I've owned 2 of these now for transporting 1-2 medium-large sized dogs at a time. They're easy to clean/vacuum, hair doesn't stick, etc. The issue is the straps

I've owned 2 of these now for transporting 1-2 medium-large sized dogs at a time. They're easy to clean/vacuum, hair doesn't stick, etc. The issue is the straps that connect to the front headrests to make the hammock. The weight of a dog leaning/laying against that, or going between the front/back seats (they can just jump over the hammock), pulls on those straps, and eventually the buckle does not hold the adjustment and the straps sag to their full extension, meaning that the portion of the hammock that rests against the back of the front seats sags down completely. This has happened with both covers I've owned, the buckles simply no longer hold the straps up over time. Also, the mesh design in the center becomes easily frayed and torn. The buckle sag is the main issue though, and the reason I had to replace the first hammock (and now the 2nd). I'll be trying a different brand next time.
