Can the KONG be washed in the dishwasher?

KONG toys can be washed in the sink using warm water, soap and a bottle brush or toothbrush. For truly tough gunk removal, KONG toys are top-rack dishwasher safe (skip the heated dry cycle).

Do these leak the treats out all over the place as the dog plays?

Depending on the treats you use, you can stuff loosely for beginners or tighter for more advanced users using the KONG snacks or your dog's favorite kibble. You can also use KONG Easy Treats or a dash of peanut butter.

Are these toys latex free?

KONG rubber products are actually related to latex, as natural rubber is made from latex. Latex is the actual physical “gooey” material that is extracted from the rubber trees. Natural rubber is then produced through a variety of processes but some of the relationship to latex does remain. For example, KONG natural rubber toys are a slightly different material then the latex used in latex gloves. Not everyone with a latex allergy will have a reaction to the natural rubber KONG uses. However, to be safe, we would recommend consulting your doctor just in case. If you do try a KONG natural rubber toy, make sure to pay close attention for any reactions or changes.

Kong has changed the size of the hole where treats are stuffed. The slightly larger hole makes it too easy for my dog to get her treats out. With her old kong, she spends 20 minutes or more. This new one is like 20 seconds. Luckily, her old kong is in okay shape. But we wanted a new one that was exactly the same as the old.

I have all three variations of this toy: puppy, original, and senior. My dogs still gravitate toward the puppy version even though they are no longer pups. There is something about the texture or softness that they just prefer. It is gentle on their teeth, easy to stuff with treats, and keeps them entertained. This pink puppy Kong continues to be a favorite in our house no matter their age.
