Is this salmon raw or cooked before freeze-dried?

The salmon is raw prior to freeze-drying because if it is cooked prior to freeze-drying then it will crumble into small pieces once it does become freeze dried. It is very similar to when you cook salmon at home. In its raw state the salmon holds together really well.

The bite sized cubes of dehydrated salmon!

Our tribe loves salmon and chicken treats. Yet most all on the market are either crumbs, shreds, or contain pieces with salmon skin which is large with sharp edges

Our tribe loves salmon and chicken treats. Yet most all on the market are either crumbs, shreds, or contain pieces with salmon skin which is large with sharp edges. The brand we used prior to this looked like sawdust compared with this product. Our cats all love it. Mainly, there is ZERO WASTE. That’s a big one. When I get to the bottom of the bag, there’s hardly ANY crumbs remaining. Most all other brands, contain MAINLY CRUMBS. Too much wasted product and $$ in competitive brands. This is our staple and is delivered two bags at a time via regular subscription. Thank you CHEWY!! For sourcing and offering such an amazing salmon TREAT! It’s a genuine luxury.

This single-ingredient, freeze dried salmon cubes are one of the most essential part of our feeding system with our four cats on all different special diets (diabetes, GI tract lymphoma, IBD, chronic constipation, weight management with different goals). This is the only food safe for us to give all of our cats, which is a rarity for us as everyone is on their own special, prescription diet under meticulous supervision. We also love that it’s super versatile. We used them as toppers (crushed and sprinkled over prescription wet foods to coax our cats to eat the whole bowl), healthier substitute to kibbles between main meals (small portion but just enough for diabetic cat and other cats on strict weight management), and as treats in general. Whether we serve them as individual cubes or powdered, every ounce of Catmandu’s freeze dried salmon treats are thoroughly enjoyed at our home. Please never stop making these!! Thank you!!!
