My 40 lb 8 mo old Golden is very picky when it comes to chewing. Not interested in benebones, other varieties of different softness. She wants to chew but I'm not feeding bully sticks more than suggested. The ONLY chew that has worked so far has been goat horns, but she's a strong enough chewer she's just mowing through them in days. I wasn't sure about coffee wood, so decided to try olive wood first. She started chewing this right out of the box. Bits crumble off, which is no big deal to me. Shows me it's crumbling and I can supervise her easily to see what's coming off. I purposely ordered up a size as directed based on her chewing habits. Pictures show 2 days worth of chewing. She would have finished most of a goat horn in that time.

It more breaks down into tiny pieces, kind of like a gritty powder. I'm not sure if this depends on the dog's chewing style, though. I'm only rating 4/5 because it still seems pretty hard. Although, my dog doesn't seem to care.

They like it. I like it too but I had to cut it in half as it was too long (11") for my 50 lb dog. He had it straight out his mouth and it was very close to the ground, if he would have tripped it would have choked him. That's why I cut it in half. Other than that I like the olive wood chews. Did I order the wrong size? I thought I just re-ordered what I received before.

Better chew toy

Great chew toy for vigorous chewers. My dogs destroy all chew toys other than this and nylabone, but this isn’t as hard on their teeth.
