Q: What is coffee wood? A: Coffee wood is the tree / plant on which coffee beans grow. There are two main types, Arabica and Robusta. Woodies are made from Robusta coffee trees / plants.

Q: Hang on, is it a tree or a plant? A: Yes! You say potato, I say potato! You say tomato….you get it!

Q: Do you cut down trees? A: We do not. The trees / plants grow so fast in the natural, organic soil, that they need to be regularly pruned. We do this, sustainably, and use the wood for Woodies!

Q: Is coffee wood safe for dogs to chew? A: Yes, it is safe for the vast majority of dogs to chew. It is a dense hardwood that softens when a dog chews and saliva mixes with it. It “flakes” and “crumbles” into safe pieces. It has the lowest likelihood of any wood to splinter. The chewed ends harden when drying, but will quickly soften again into a pulpy texture when chewing begins.

If your dog has a very strong bite, or is a very aggressive chewer they unfortunately may not be a fit – sorry! But if you want to try them, we suggest sizing up. A good example of fit is that pi t bulls tend to gnaw happily on the XLs, whereas a chihuahua may make short work of the size S. Go figure!

Q: Can I leave the chew with my dog all day A: We recommend giving the chew to your dog for 30mins at a time. Dogs seem to love the all-natural taste that many seem to become more motivated to destroy the chew the longer they are chewing. We recommend supervising chew time, and provide plenty of fresh water, as with any chew, especially a hard chew.

Q: Since it is coffee wood, is there caffeine in it? A: Thankfully due to the wonders of mother nature all of the caffeine goes to the coffee beans, and is not in the branches. Just like wine!

Q: How long will the Woodies last? A: It really does totally depend on your pooch’s chewing style. It can be from weeks to a couple of months. Pls refer to the erosion diagram on the flyer you receive with the Woodies to see the gradual erosion, and when it’s time to compost (when it reduces by approx.. half).

Q: Where do you make Woodies? A: We source the coffee wood from select coffee plantations in Vietnam, and make them in our facility there. We love to support the local workers and their families. They work very hard.
