Use A Gradual Transition: Introduce the new food progressively over a four day period by mixing it with your pet's previous food. Begin with a proportion of about 25% new food to 75% previous food. Gradually increase the amount of new food and decrease the amount of previous food until you are feeding only the new diet.
Maintain Normal Feeding Patterns: Feed your dog or cat at the same time each day and in the same area. Use the same bowl, and avoid making abrupt changes to feeding routines.
Enhance Appeal: If your pet tends to be finicky about new foods (this is especially common with some cats), you can boost the appeal of the new food by mixing a little warm water with the food or by initially hand feeding a few pieces. If you mix food with water, discard any uneaten portion after 20 minutes to prevent spoilage.
We didn't realize it was time to put out 7 year old dog on senior food until we went to the vet. The change has been amazing she is more playful, energetic and paired with joint meds she is better than ever! She also is allergic to chicken so its nice they offer it in lamb!
Best place ever to order pet supplies, good prices and fast delivery! Highly recommend!!!
My dog had eaten lamb and rice food ever since I got her about 9 years ago. She is now a little over 16. I was told by a veterinarian I needed to put her on senior food a couple year ago. She was getting a little chunky and getting a little to much protein for her age from the food I was feeding her. Well I finally changes after being told about 3 years. She seemed to be doing so well I didn’t want to switch her. Well most senior food is chicken which she did not do well with. This started some issues for her I do believe. A I know she is had some age but after I switch she slowed down dramatically and this caused other issues. Well I started searching and found this Senior food with yes Lamb and Rice. She seems to like it so far. She is already showing signs of getting her energy back and pepping up. Like other food for our fur babies it’s not very eye appealing but she doesn’t seem to mind that at all. So thank you very much to Eukanuba for thinking of and making a Senior food for dogs that just can’t eat chicken. It really is helping my girl.
We have been feeding eukanuba lamb and rice to Zeus since we brought him home. He does very well on this formula but it is getting harder and harder to find. This time we had to get the Senior version, he’s a 4 year old Newfoundland, so it may be time to start him on senior food just because of his breed. This is a high quality dog food and my vet approves of us feeding it to Zeus

He was 100% fine with this until I started transitioning Annamaet in then he instantly refused to eat any more Eukanuba and I tried to sneak it in with the new food but he’d spit it out so I gave the leftover (was almost finished since I was transitioning) to strays outside.
My dog likes this better than his old brand, mainly due to the small size kibble. I noticed that he was only eating small amounts of his old food at a time, leaving it in the bowl for days. He started to lose weight too. I talked to the vet, he said at his age, and with no dental problems, it could be the size and shape of the kibble that he doesn’t like, he suggested that I could try a smaller size kibble with the same health benefits that my current food had. I switched to this food, and he cleans his bowl daily again. His weight is back too.
Delivered quickly and safely! Animals chow down. Easy to serve and clean up. Pieces are just the right size for small dogs!
Well they didn't have my food and I am a senior so mom got me this. Mom did good both my daughter and I feel better and play harder. Thanks Chewy
I have a 9 year old Mutt who I have had since he was 6 months old. He has always been a picky eater, grazes, rarely finishes a bowl of food that evening, and has been like that his entire life. I bought this food (switching from grain-free as my vet recommended it - apparently grain-free is bad!) and Bandit absolutely LOVES IT. He eats a bowl of food immediately after I set it down for him, and goes through 2 bowls of food per day (we've even had to limit his intake!). Moral of the story, give it a try!
