Description

Your kitty will be the captain of her own seafaring ship when she dives into a bowl of Lotus Sardine and Herring dry cat food. With real fish, wholesome vegetables and legumes, your kitty is sure to get lost in a sea of flavor—but this grain-free food was designed to be so much more than flavorful. Sardine and herring are the top two ingredients, putting high-quality protein first, and catfish oil is added for a nourishing dose of omega-3 fatty acids. Your kitty will enjoy the flavor of wholesome fruits and vegetables—like carrots, apples, spinach and pumpkin—while she gets the carbohydrates she needs from low-starch sources, like peas and lentils. It's a tasty, low-glycemic recipe that doesn't rely on fillers like corn, wheat, soy or potatoes. So, raise the sails and batten down the hatches for a meal worthy of your pirate queen.

  • Grain-free recipe avoids common ingredients like rice and barley, for cats who are sensitive or choosy pet parents who prefer to go without grains.
  • Potato-free formula is low-glycemic, making it purr-fect for cats watching their sugar intake or who are less active than others.
  • Relies on healthful, low-starch carbohydrates—like peas, lentils and tapioca—rather than fillers like corn, wheat or soy.
  • Limited animal proteins make this meal ideal for kitties with allergies or sensitivities to other meats or poultry.

Was hesitant to buy, but ....

    By on

I have one cat who will eat most anything and another cat who is a very picky eater. She's the one I usually have to worry about whenever I rotate their food out with a new brand of food. I initially bought the 2.2 lbs. bag just in case it wasn't a hit. However, she loves this cat food. I don't think I've ever seen her this excited about cat food. Needless to day, I'm ordering the larger bag today. She also has a sensitive stomach and I've had no problems with her throwing up since she started eating this.

    Seems like good quality

    By on Top 500 Contributor

I'm giving this 5 stars even though I mixed it in with several other cat food brands and flavors. I haven't found any of the little morsels left on the plate! I thought the kitties needed something a little zingier for the palate, and sardines and herring sounded zingy to me.

    Cats eat right away

    By on

I like the idea of healthier dry food and we have been trying out different kinds. Our two girls really like this food, we mixed it in with their old food and they picked this out first to eat. They are not generally picky but they seem very happy with the switch.

    Cat loved it.

    By on

My cat refuses to eat a lot of foods. He has his one food and doesn't like to stay. This was the only food out of many that he personally enjoyed. I like the ingredients and how it is oven baked.

    Great! No Poultry!

    By on

My cats (mostly seniors) love it. I rotate their food between different types of fish, but usually the kibble options are only salmon or menhaden, so I'm delighted to add sardines and herring to their diet. One of my kitties is allergic to poultry; finally, this is something he can eat without itching. Love that it is baked (softer for those seniors) and in tiny pieces (for that one cat that refuses to chew her food).

    Not a favorite

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

Was hoping this food would be a hit with my two because the ingredients and baked process are superior but after the first couple of days I put it down they still walked away from the dish. I have one dry food eater only and she even said no way...

    Four Cats Disliked

    By on

Not one of out four cats would eat this dry food. Dry kibble is very, very dry with no scent. However, they do like the Lotus wet food and other brands of dry.

    Great hit for senior cats!

    By on

My cats really enjoy this food. Possibly because it's fish based? But, I think they like it because the kibble is soft....it is baked, makes a big difference, easy to break with their teeth. My older senior has lost some teeth to dental disease so this food is very easy for her to chew.

    A changed kitty

    By on

I changed my cat's food because of food allergies. She would scratch and get scabs, it was awful for her. The vet told me to try limited ingredient recipes. I was so surprised when she went nuts over this food, and her skin is completely clear!
