Be Careful!

Collar is very cute and as described. We got this for our kitten when he was almost 3 months old, he is now almost 7 months and can still wear it with size adjustments

Collar is very cute and as described. We got this for our kitten when he was almost 3 months old, he is now almost 7 months and can still wear it with size adjustments. I do warn pet parents to be careful with this product, first few weeks our kitten had this he had 2 instances where he tried taking off the collar and instead of it opening it got caught in his mouth. This made him panic and thankfully we were with him so we were able go help him out of it before it could get worse. Since then we havnt run into this issue. The collar does breakaway as we have found it has come off him from time to time but it usually stays on well. The material has now signs of wear as it is a woven piece.

I have been using Lupinepet Breakaway Cat Collars for over 10 years on a variety of cats [all indoor ones; all different sizes and activity levels]. The collars are not easily "breakable" but they also are not super difficult to separate the clasp parts. The materials are of good quality. Collars were only returned when they got very worn and "fuzzy" from the cat scratching. However, years ago I did have one cat have a skin irritation occur with the collar that had metallic gold thread in the pattern. He got some small sores under the collar. I believe it was because he had very sparse/thin hair and that allowed the metallic thread to make contact with his skin and rubbed his skin during normal activity.

I chose this collar, because previous collars were more fragile & lost or broke threads in their designs when Gigi wore them. I had hoped that this collar would be more sturdy. However, it wasn't. Within a few weeks of wearing it, the entire decorative design became a fuzzy mess. As a solution, I purchased a solid colored collar with nothing decorative on it. So far, the new collar is standing up to Gigi's strolls through the grass. The new collar is a "Safe Cat Snag-Proof Polyester Breakaway Collar" for $6.99. A good deal! :)

Don’t buy if your cat scratches their neck

Loved the color but buckle loose
