so glad I found Maev for my three dogs. I didn't really believe that food could make such a difference, but I’ve been totally convinced otherwise. My dogs are looking healthier than ever. Shinier coats, better breath, improved weight, energy, and overall well-being it seems. Highly recommend.

My 10 year old rescue dog came to me with a broken leg as a pup, has torn his CCL, has hip dysplasia, arthritis - his whole life, he’s just had an all around hard time with his back legs and hips. Since starting Maev’s Hip & Joint food about 2 years ago, he’s like a different dog. Now he can hang longer on walks, asks to play fetch more often, even wrestles every morning with our 2 year old pup. Also - he used to constantly lick at his hips and legs (which also caused painful hot spots), but that’s completely stopped too. I used to worry about keeping him comfortable for the rest of his years with us, but now I just get to enjoy seeing him happy and thriving. So grateful we found Maev.

Dangerous for Small Breeds

I’ve been a loyal Maev customer for over two years, and I’ve desperately wanted to love this food. At first, it seemed like a dream come true, my 10-year-old Papillon

I’ve been a loyal Maev customer for over two years, and I’ve desperately wanted to love this food. At first, it seemed like a dream come true, my 10-year-old Papillon transitioned seamlessly, devoured every meal, and had a level of excitement around food that I never saw with kibble. She even lost a little weight, which I thought was a good thing at the time. Unfortunately, the positive experience didn’t last. After about six months, her weight dropped dangerously low to around five pounds. My vet confirmed she needed more calories, but her bloodwork showed that Maev’s raw diet was giving her too much protein. I was told not to increase the Maev portions and to supplement with kibble. I resisted at first, believing kibble to be the worst option, but eventually had to increase her calories with Maev. She gained the weight back, but now, after two years, the diet has taken a serious toll. Over the last three weeks, my Papillon has suffered diarrhea, vomiting, and inflammation. My vet has firmly advised that Maev is the cause, and that this diet is not well suited for small breeds. It’s heartbreaking to say, but we can no longer continue feeding Maeve. To make matters worse, when I reached out to customer service for a refund (given this is directly tied to health issues), they refused to reimburse my most recent order. What’s even more disappointing is that I actively recommended Maev to friends when I first started. Out of four friends with small breed dogs who tried it, none have stuck with it. Every one of them had negative experiences, ranging from vomiting and diarrhea to kidney concerns and bloodwork showing excessive protein levels. I’m leaving this review as a warning to other small breed owners: please reconsider Maev. While it may work for some, my experience, and the experiences of several others, suggest it can be harmful, especially for small dogs.

After watching our senior dog show signs of hip and joint pain, we decided to try Maev. First off, we love the fact knowing that Maev's quality is second to none. Second, our dog absolutely loves Maev! Lastly, his mobility showed signs of improvement after a few weeks of initially feeding it to him, and now he's running around like he used to! So happy we found Maev for our aging dog!

Dogs LOVE it

My dogs bug me an hour early to feed them most of the time. Our youngest will practically knock me over to get to her bowl.

I absolutely love the quality of Maev’s food. You can see and smell the difference the moment you open the bag, real ingredients, nothing processed or fake. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing I’m feeding my dog meals that are as wholesome and fresh as what I’d want for myself. The results speak for themselves too; healthy digestion, shiny coat, and tons of energy. Maev is the best.

Unfortunately I did not see the box delivered until late in the day & it was 90 degrees outside in the hot sun. So the bag you just sent to replace another bag is no good because it thawed along with the dry ice it was packed in. I recently had hip surgery so I’m not getting around. It would be nice when receiving a frozen food to get a knock on the door or at least a text message from the delivery company.

My dogs are definitely losing weight on this and that was not my intention at all. At first I gave my dogs the serving amount for their current weight. Both have had recent vet visits and had ideal weights. But it became clear they were losing weight since I switched to this food. So I added a cup more per day. The problem is a scoop of this food, 1 cup, holds a ton of green beans, apples, berries. Actually there’s barely any meat in the entire bag, period. I definitely need to go to the grocery store and get more meat to add to their meals. These will be my last bags. I’m embarrassed at how quickly my dogs are losing weight. I just now decided to read other reviews and saw this was not just my bags but other folks observations too. If you try this food simply expect to have to add more calories, especially more meat.

I have 5 dogs a chihuahua, Belgian Malinois, 2 pitbulls, and a catahoula leopard dog... it. they are already very well exposed to raw as I have used 'raw paws pet food" for 12 years and before that I made my own blend)...the issue for me is the expense for how much you actually get ...there is a lot of veggies and non meat ingredients....one day i literally poured out a bag and sosrted the remaining stuff from the meat....um...not worth it...my pitties need alot of meat to keep enough calories on them ..i have no interest in frozen berries or green beans... i feed my dogs veggies from my own leftovers...I do not want to pay that kind of money for veggies...I used the 300+Maev as a topper and two handfulls for each dog...but you go through it fast and again, the other company i use does not have all those cheaper fillers (veggies/fruit). the other company is 100% meat, organ meat (liver, heart, kidney) blood, tripe, bone marrow and tripes and the cows the meat come from are natural raised...it is a waaay better bang for your buck and you earn points if you refer and every time you buy more...for the same amount of money. i can get a solid three to four month supply ... i just rescued 4 kittens and they devour the other food i mentioned as a treat a couple times a week..I think I will not continue to use ....except maybe for treat training... but frankly i can make my own. toppers after reading the ingredients. I do supplement my young pitties with a kibble otherwise I would end oif paying 1000 every 3-4 months...
