There is a gray lever that opens and closes, allowing water movement at mid-level. If closed, the filter will only pull water from the bottom of the tank.

My bio wheel will not spin.

Usually when the Bio-Wheel won't spin either the water level is low, the filter system needs cleaning or the Bio-Wheel bearings are misplaced or dirty. Take the filter off of the tank, take it apart, and give it a good cleaning using warm water and distilled white vinegar. Make sure to pay close attention to the impeller, motor, intake tube, impeller housing and bearings. Rinse them well after cleaning and re-install.

Don't waste yoir money!

I had my first one for 3 months, didn't work as it should. Chewy replaced it and in less than a week.. stopped working again.

I've always liked the "concept" of these Bio-Wheel filters. THE HOOK? Buying EXPENSIVE new filter inserts. I will only buy those if actually needed, but clean them

Worked great at the beginning

Worked great for 4 months, but now it makes a continuous loud noise. I’ve cleaned it, I keep the water topped it, but it won’t shut off. Am very unhappy.

This is not a great system to use. Chewy was excellent with refunding me money because this product wasn’t that great and the wheels stopped working over half of

Not adjustable flow like and VERY loud

Bought for our axolotl tank and they DO NOT like high water flow or current in their tank. Bought this because it specifically said in people questions that it had an adjustable flow on it. The lever does absolutely nothing to slow the flow down and it’s SUPER loud. One of the bowels material was also ripped upon inspection before using it.
