Good balanced nutrition for breeding stock pigeons

By concerned on Apr 15, 2021

This extruded pellet prevents birds from picking out more palatable, high energy/low protein grains from grain mixes, resulting in nutritional imbalances. I have many more big healthy squabs this year than last when they were on a pigeon grain mix. Pellets are a good size even for relatively small birds. It may take a couple of days for birds to adapt to the new pellet, if they've only had grains in the past. But when they get hungry enough they will eat it. (Wild birds are less likely to eat it because they are unaccustomed to pelleted feed...) Now that they're raising squabs, they eat it by the truckload.

    Poor nutrition pellet

By Teenex on Apr 8, 2021

Tried this pellet during breeding season for my pigeons. I had to hand feed a few babies and ground this pellet down to make a paste. I noticed my squabs were not gaining much weight. I switched to a different feed and all was well after that. Tried adding this feed to a mix I had to increase the protein. The birds will leave these pellets for last. They have to be very hungry to finish these pellets. I tried feeding this to the sparrows and they did not touch it. Would not recommend to others based on my experience.

They love it and eat it all

By BantamBreeder on May 24, 2021

My show bantam chickens love this stuff. They eat all of it, no waste. They’re super excited when I open the bag, and it smells wonderful too. I will be ordering it throughout the breeding season.

My Peacocks aren't sure about this food

By Penny on Jan 25, 2021

I'm not sure how to rate this...I know Mazuri gets great reviews from other users and seems to have a quality product, peacocks aren't too keen on this feed...they eat it, but not eagerly....they'll eat it only after they've visited my chickens feeders and waited on treats from me. I think my Peacocks would only give this food about 3 stars based on taste, but I added an extra star for quality.
