The syringe to dose and dispense this product is absolutely ABYSMAL. I’m a pharmacy technician and I would NEVER give a patient something so TERRIBLE to dispense or take a medication. I wouldn’t recommend anyone use this product based on the faulty syringe alone because I doubt anyone’s pet is receiving consistent dosing based on this alone. If I wasn’t a trained and certified pharmacy technician, I wouldn’t feel comfortable dosing this medication to my dog. My dog hates the taste compared to the brand name, but he still takes it. A pharmacist and I found a different method to safely measure and administer my dog’s dosage due to the terrible syringe included with this item. If you’re having difficulty with the syringe, a pharmacist or vet can help you find a better way. I’m hoping to switch my dog to tablets so we don’t have to deal with this anymore and we can save money.
My shepherd-mix has been taking this particular medication for 3 weeks, and I can see a difference in her behavior. She's more interested in playing, has an easier time getting up a flight of stairs, and seems to be sleeping better. I'm happy Chewy carries it, because this is three times the size of the bottle obtained at the vet office, and for slightly less than they charged for a 32ml bottle.
Always convenient and fast delivery! Chewy helped to get my prescriptions all approved by my vet daring a very difficult time for me. Had to put my Butter down last week. She wS who I was using Meloxicam for.
We originally used Meloxidyl for my dog who has some arthritis. He never minded the taste and it seemed to work. Once that bottle ran out, I went to Chewy for ease of refilling and cheaper prices. Unfortunately, they only had Loxicom available. My dog definitely did not enjoy receiving this medication like he did with Meloxidyl. We also noticed around the same time he started Loxicom that he broke out into skin irritations and scabs around his neck and back. I stopped giving him the Loxicom and the irritations cleared up. Not sure if that is an actual side effect, but probably not using this stuff anymore.
It didn’t occur to me that the generic would taste different. It now takes a glob of peanut butter to get my dog to take the drug whereas he took the brand name version without any hesitation.
WAY cheaper than the vet’s price, a better bottle (clear, so you can actually see how much you have left), and the perfect syringe - shows both weight by pounds and ml’s. Once again, Chewy makes me happy!
A lot less expensive than the vet, my senior dog has arthritis in her hips and this allows her to take walks and be pain free. Couldn’t be happier!
This stuff has be remarkable for my 15 year old shih tzus arthritis. I don't know what we would do without it.
The process went well on the end of Chewy. However, out vet was slow to process the request to ok the med. Chewy should have followed up with our vet to expedite the order.
Ordered this to replace the Meloxidyl that I was getting at the ves for my furbaby. It was very expensive for a tiny vial. This was a large bottle and the pricing was excellent!!
