Great Slip on rope Leash
Our pet is a Doberman Pincher, he weighs 110 and this Mendota large slip on rope leash works really well as described in the ad. Would highly recommend it.
Much better than the 3/8th inch
If you are looking at this and the 3/8th inch diameter, definitely get this one. The thicker rope is more comfortable on your hand/wrist, doesn't dig in like the thinner one, and more durable. I expect it will stand up against his habit of chewing and playing tug with the leash. Also, the leather and gold accents look so classy!
Definitely not sturdy/poor quality
I purchased this for our English Mastiff pup 8months 160lbs I figured this would be a great lead to use in the house.For training purposes we use leads in the house on our dogs for quick corrections. My concern with this product is the secure clip (brown leather part) isn’t heavy duty for any dog breed. It fell apart within minutes I still use it, I just loop it through the handle but this could pose an issue if it were ingested by a dog or a small child if someone wasn’t aware it broke off. I wouldn’t recommend.
Great product.
I love the Mendota leash. It is very strong and releases so easily for the dogs comfort. I have a black lab that is 108 lbs. and it works so well.
won't stay up on slender necks
It seems like a good enough quality product but I couldn't get it stay up on my dog's neck, even after watching tons of videos on how to use a slip lead. Seems like it's natural for slip leads to fall if your dog pulls forward a lot (which doesn't seem helpful, since I got this for pulling) but any movement would slide this down. My pup is a 7 month doberman mix; apparently her neck is also too slender. We ended up switching to a prong collar for training. I'll probably just stick a caribiner on this to use as a regular clip leash.
Poor Quality
Where the leather is sewn onto the leash - the threading came undone and the leather part is no longer attached.
Second One
I first bought this leash in the shorter length and in red. The red was too orange for me (my least favorite color) so I ordered both long and short in black. I feel so much more confident using these leashes/collars. My rescue, reactive GSD is a master escape artist and this has kept her calmer and at my side without being able to back out of it. She has calmed quicker also that's a huge win my my pup.
Durable and Tough
This is a great leash. My dog likes to put the leash in his mouth, and this has stood up to tough wear and tear. Great product that fits all dog sizes.

uh.....Not sure if this works as intended. For a hyper puppy such as ours it might not be ideal. We were optimistic at first but our puppy seemed to choke herself and became fascinated with chewing the leather. Mixed reviews on this. We are still using it in hopes it works.
