Really Disappointed puppy smells on this food!!!
Thought I received a great gift when a friend gave us a 22lb bag of the Merrick puppy Texas beef (see pic)for our 5 mos old golden mix. Since adding Merrick puppy to her diet of Purina pro plan puppy chicken n rice, my puppy smells horrible! Her bowl movts are normal but her butt smells horrible as if gland (you know which ones) smell mixed with Merrick food. YUCK!! Will be writing Merrick to see if recalled as they normally have a high quality food but won't use this one anymore! If you try a small bag first!
Let it flow like a mudslide
If you want to “hear” when your dog goes to the bathroom, then this is the food for you! All three of my dogs have been blasting mud for several days. Pro-Pectalin has little to no effect on the situation. I’ve always held this brand in very high regard too. NEVER AGAIN!
Puppy not excited
Puppy isn't excited over the food unless I put gravy or meat with it. My other dogs always liked the brand. I do think having a singular dog makes them picky.
Merrick Dog food.
My puppy wasn’t crazy about this food. I tried to give it to my older dog as a mixer, he wasn’t gobbling it down either. I think it’s quality, but I won’t buy it again.

My new puppy ate this food on up with no digestive issues. Chewy always delivers promptly.
Dobie Lives This!
Our Doberman mix puppy loves this beef and sweet potato kibble. We had another kibble on hand when we got her and she didn't touch it. Her foster mom had been feeding her the Merrick's and I'm thrilled that she lives to eat it. I don't mind the price given the quality ingredients and because she enjoys it.
Great food, but multiple problems.
Usually, this food is great! I've had my puppy on this food since I got her at 8 weeks old. It always did well, her coat has been shiny and she's been healthy. Lately, I've bought the past 5 or 6 bags of food from pet stores and here and it has been BURNT. There's usually a sweet aroma from it, like puppy food, and it smells like burnt cardboard. Merrick needs to get this under control. This isn't a cheap brand of food, either. I shouldn't have to worry whether it's going to be burnt or not when I open the bag. I'm tired of playing the guessing game, and will be getting a different food from now on. Usually I love Merrick, but this has been a constant disappointment. Hopefully I can send this food back and get a refund.
Great Food, Great Company
Discovered this food after being unable to obtain a special weaning formula from another company. Found I could wean my puppies without digestive problems. And I did not have to jump through hoops to get it.

Great food
I accidentally got the puppy one but my dog is 5 years old. What I do to feed my dog is mix in dry food with food I make at home. When I first mixed it in my dog was a little skeptical since it looked different but he quickly ate it after tasting it. He loved it! I love that the ingredients are all natural cause that's what I worry the most about for my dog. Also no negative reactions to the food which is a great plus!
