Our dog has allergies to chicken. We buy merrick beef for our dogs. Do the Merrick wet foods have chicken?

Of the beef only wet foods for Merrick, the Cowboy Cookout contains chicken broth, the Real Texas Beef contains no chicken, and the Backcountry 96% Real Beef Recipe contains no chicken. This information can be found under the nutritional tab for each product.

Most of Merricks ingredients come from the USA, however, in certain circumstances some ingredients may come from another country (like lamb from New Zealand) to ensure the highest quality possible. Each and every ingredient must meet Merrick’s own rigorous quality standards. Ingredients are tested upon arrival, samples are tested throughout production, and all pet food is tested before its released for sale.

My dogs would not touch it

I tried various times of feeding - even when I haven't fed them all day. And they wouldn't touch this stuff. I even warmed it in the microwave. Still won't touch. I even added shredded cheese. Still would not eat it. I have a mixed terrier and a Pekinese who are a bit finicky.

Not as it used to be

I am very disappointed in the contents of this....there used to be more substance...this was half chunks and half a watery brown liquid...no veggies...

Bailey hates it!

This seems like a good canned dog food, but my Yorkiepoo won't go near it after a couple of bites. But he's really picky about food.

It's Good Again!

Since my pup's birth in 2010, I've fed him Merricks. 2020+ the quality fell. Mostly gravy. Inconsistent. Sometimes, the can only had gravy in it!! So, as I searched for a replacement, I noticed the quality returned! Packed w veggies, food & gravy! Note: At 3 years old, my pup was destroyed by a pitbull - (back broke, intestines poured out). The surgeon said, "Besides no punctured organs, your dog is alive and responding due to his age and whatever you feed him."

A friend recommended when I had too much difficulty finding my trusty Natural Balance canned food, due to supply chain issues Seems good quality and dogs gobble it down. Twice the price of NB, sadly.

Dog loved it, has "Natural Flavoring" so she no longer gets it

This highly recommended wet food was enjoyed by my 10 year old Jack Russell. Upon close look to ingriedients I noticed the confusing addition that is appearing in many foods these days (Human too) of "Natural Flavor". No one can explain what it is clearly and its been described to me as code word for hiding things they would rather not list. Time to look for a different food again...

Something is wrong with this food

Merrick cowboy can food used to be my dogs favorite wet food, but it seems caused a bad Diarrhea after feed them. I changed the diet immediately with rice, meat and vegetables. Tried again and diarrhea came back. Now I switched to an organic brand and they are back to normal.
