The instructions say "feed 1 can per 3.5 lbs of body weight per day, for kittens up to twice this amount and for mothers up to 3 times this amount." Is this for the 3oz cans or the 5.5oz cans?

The feeding recommendations would be based off the 5.5 ounce cans. When feeding a kitten, kittens tend to need a little more nourishment as they are growing so, when feeding a 3 ounce can it is recommended to feed 4 cans for a kitten, or 2 of the 5.5 ounce cans. For a nursing or expecting female, feed 6 of the 3 ounce cans or 3 of the 5.5 ounce cans.

Does this contain DHA?

Where is the meat sourced from?

While all Merrick recipes are made in the USA, they do outsource a few ingredients from other countries. The Lamb and Venison in their recipes is sourced from New Zealand, the Duck and Rabbit are sourced in France, and the Vitamins and Minerals Premix are sourced in Canada and Germany. All other ingredients are sourced in the USA.

This recipe contains approximately 12.16% Carbohydrates, 1.21% Phosphorus, 0.13% Magnesium, 0.78% Sodium and 1.31% Calcium on a Dry Matter basis.

Typical cat. Purchased several varieties of kitten food and made notes of the ones he liked and actually ate. Merrick was one so I bought 24 cans and now he doesn't

Typical cat. Purchased several varieties of kitten food and made notes of the ones he liked and actually ate. Merrick was one so I bought 24 cans and now he doesn't like it. He's 5 months old and TOO YOUNG to be so picky! However, I have been mixing it with the salmon that he does like and he's been eating it. Only issue I have is there is no obvious ingredient, like chicken or salmon, etc. But as long as he eats it, even a little at a time, it'll be OK. But I won't buy it again as I don't want the hassle of trying to mix it in.

Nice smooth texture for young kittens
