Simply wipe with a cloth using a mild, pet-safe cleanser.
Instructions for 3” Gate Extension
- Begin by determining which extension or combination of extensions is required for your doorway or opening. attach the Top Plastic Connector and Bottom Plastic Connector to the top and bottom of the Extension Rod. NOTE: The insertion point of the Top Connector is ¾” wide, and the insertion point of the Bottom Connector is 5/8” wide.
- Using a flat head screwdriver, remove the Top Plastic Insert and the Bottom Plastic Insert from the gate frame as shown.
- Connect the Extension Rod to the gate frame as shown.
- Install the Top Plastic Insert and Bottom Plastic Insert that were removed in step 2 into the ends of the extension bar’s Top and Bottom Plastic Connector.
- Once the required extensions are attached to the gate, insert the 4 Threaded spindle Bolts into the ends of the extensions you just assembled and follow the instructions from the original pet gate starting from step 1.
Instructions for 6” and 11” Gate Extensions
- Begin by determining which extension or combination of extensions is required for your doorway opening. attach the Top Plastic Connector and Bottom Plastic Connector to the top and bottom of the Extension Rod.
- Using a flat head screwdriver, remove the Top Plastic Insert and the Bottom Plastic Insert from the gate frame as shown.
- Connect the Extension Rod to the gate frame as shown.
- Install the Bottom Plastic Insert that was removed in step 2 into the bottom end of the extension bar.
- Once the required extensions are attached to the gate, insert the 4 Threaded spindle Bolts into the ends of the extensions you just assembled and follow the instructions from the original pet gate starting from step 1.

This is a wonderful product to help my existing gates from the same mfg. work more efficiently and effectively. I highly recommend ordering this if your gate has too much of a gap in a door opening.

Pet gate extensions!

The Gates AND these extension were EXACTLY what I wanted and as advertised. Easy to install and look fabulous...I office out of the home and clients see these 2 gates...they have a very stylish look and are solidly constructed. I installed without the cups and hole drilling and the pressure alone was enough to make the gates VERY sturdy! each gate had a little squeak on opening but a shot of WD-40 and ALL is great! I would highly recommend both this produce AND Chewy...prices...delivery and communication was ALL you could hope for in an internet purchase! ***** that is 5 star! haha Cheers Aussie

High quality appearance and functionality

Easy to install. Note that only one extension is supposed to be installed per side (including the 3" extension provided with the gate). However, it IS possible to install 2 on one side, but the gate will not be as rigid. I successfully used an 11" extension on one side and the 2 provided 3" extensions on the other. I did not find the gate hard to open as others have commented. But it is (by design) a 2 handed operation that is not trivial. I found the auto-close feature to be helpful. The gate can be kept in the open position by manually moving it close to the closed position.

Easy to install. I removed the bottom latch to make it a little easier to use. Actually I did this on the gate.
