What is the highest volume level the bell chimes at?

The description claims that the wireless activator requires no batteries or power source. How is that even possible?

Answer by ChewyOct 06, 2018
The receiver itself does need to be plugged into an outlet within 1000 feet of the wireless activator. The receiver sends a frequency to the wireless activator that energizes it each time to work when pressed by your pet.

Both my wife and I are hard of hearing and we would need 2 chime units, one at each end of the house If I purchase 2 of these units will one of the activator buttons cause both of the receiver chimes to ring?

Answer by ChewyMar 07, 2018
This product is activated by your dog's touch. Touching one unit will not cause the second unit to ring. At this time, the manufacturer doesn't have multiple receivers available as a pre-built set.

Will the adhesive rip paint off the door?

Answer by ChewyAug 23, 2020
Smart Bell is designed to stay securely on the wall even with constant abuse from your pup, which can make it hard to remove. But don’t worry, we have some tricks. We recommend using a hair dryer to heat and loosen the adhesive and then a putty knife (or something similar) to gently pry it away from the wall. For delicate walls and surfaces, we recommend using 3M Command strips. These are designed to be strong and easily pull out from behind the unit if you need to remove it.

EASY & EFFECTIVE

This gadget works great. (Could stand to have less obnoxious ring tones....but it'll do the trick. ) Puppy caught on within a couple hours. No more accidents

This gadget works great. (Could stand to have less obnoxious ring tones....but it'll do the trick. ) Puppy caught on within a couple hours. No more accidents in the house. Be aware that it will quickly become a puppy game where the puppy calls the shots & gets to manipulate the humans! But if you don't fall for the fake-outs.....that game gets old within a few days & pup only uses this "doorbell"? for the intended purpose. I've only had this gadget for a week, so can't speak to the durability. But so far, it works great, and took maybe 3 minutes to install. I'd recommend to others.

We got this bell to help house train our dachshund (20lb) so he could let us know when he need to go out. No issues pressing it. Within 1 week of beginning positive reinforcement training, he had it down pat. However, he also quickly discovered the bell could be used for both good and evil. Have to go potty? DING DONG. Bored? DING DONG. Not getting enough attention? DING DONG. Don't have to pee but haven't gone in several hours so maaaaaybe? DING DONG. DING DONG. DING DONG. He will literally spam the doorbell over and over and over. And then sometimes just walks away when you open the door. Maybe it's just a him thing or a dachshund thing, but consider yourself warned! Bell works, 10/10. You will DEFINITELY know if your dog needs out.

This bell works great, but the down side is that my puppy chews on the side, gets her teeth under the cover and takes it off of the activator. She has destroyed 3 activators now in less than a month by doing this. We get up to put her out or let her in as soon as we hear the bell, but she is too quick sometimes. The puppy is just shy of being 4 months old, so everything is a chew toy and a game.

Life, or rather floor saving. Have a new pup learning cues to go outside. He knows to go by door but doesn't always wait. If you catch my drift. He now has mastered the doorbell and will even hit it multiple times if it's urgent. Video is after about 10 minutes of having the bell. Second doorbell placed outside so they can let me know when they are ready to come in. Something I had no idea I needed, now we can't live without.

Easy for pup to use.

Only complaint- would love a time that wasn’t a door bell style. Took quite a while to find one that didn’t trigger dogs barking (thinking it’s the front door)

My reason for buying this doorbell has nothing to do with my dog. The cat has a habit of chewing the weather stripping when she can't push to door open, so now if she goes after the weather stripping , she bumps into the bell, the bell rings and I can let her in. For now, though, it scares her and she takes off, reluctantly goes round and comes through the pet door. Which is just fine.

Not ideal for small dogs

For the force needed to activate the bell, these aren't really useful for small or teacup dogs unless you're going to put them flat on the floor so they can stand

For the force needed to activate the bell, these aren't really useful for small or teacup dogs unless you're going to put them flat on the floor so they can stand on it. My small dog couldn't activate it using her nose or paw. So instead, I got a touch-sensitive set and she does great with those. Also, the quality of the various sounds is poor. A lit of the jingles sound off-key and strange.

Cutest option for my bossy dog

My dog loves to get impatient when he needs to go out and no one is paying attention to him. These solve that issue. We have them both inside and outside our doors, so he can hit the button to both come in and go out. I work from home, so he’s often off by himself. He can hit the button and I know he wants to go outside. He also loves his me time outside, so this allows him to stay out unsupervised and know he can come in as soon as he’s ready. I’ve had these for years and they’ve held up incredibly well, a quick wipe once a month and they’re good as new. The battery also lasts forever, I haven’t had to change any of them out yet.

Great signal for distance

I love this doorbell and so do my dogs! I was originally concerned about the receiver being loud enough and the distance. Our bedroom is upstairs and I put the receiver

I love this doorbell and so do my dogs! I was originally concerned about the receiver being loud enough and the distance. Our bedroom is upstairs and I put the receiver in the outlet just outside our bedroom. The activator is downstairs attached to the door. No issue with the signal or volume at all. It was easy to train my dogs on it. It only requires a light touch to sound.

Nice

Our pup learned in less than 2 days. It's light to the touch, has different ring options and just easy to use.
