These feeding guidelines are suggested only, feeding amounts may vary by breed, activity level, temperament and climate.
Puppies Adjust feeding amounts to maintain steady growth and ideal body condition throughout your puppy’s growth period. Puppies that become larger Adult dogs will grow more slowly and for more months than small dogs. This product is meant to be fed to growing puppies and pregnant or nursing Adult dogs. Puppies should be fed 3 meals per day up to 6 months of age and then twice a day. Provide daily amounts of food divided into the smaller meals. Moisten food until just soft for the early weaning period. Pick up left over food and discard in order to maintain freshness. As puppies grow teeth and can bite dry food, reduce the amount of water added to the food. Amounts will depend on age, activity, environment and temperament. Helping to decrease dog obesity means keeping your puppy at ideal body condition throughout its growth and early Adulthood. Puppies that become small/medium size dogs (up to 70 lbs) can be transitioned to Natural Balance's All Life Stages Formulas at 9 - 12 months. Puppies that become larger size dogs (over 70 lbs) can be transitioned to Natural Balance's All Life Stage Formulas at 12 - 18 months.
Pregnant and Nursing Dogs Adjust feeding amounts in order to maintain ideal body condition. Feed multiple meals per day with daily amounts divided into smaller meals. Can be moistened. For pregnant dogs, minimal increase is needed during first 6 weeks of pregnancy. After 6 weeks, until whelping, increase amount of food up to 25% more than normal Adult maintenance amounts. For nursing dogs, begin increasing amount fed immediately after whelping. Depending on the size of the litter, the amounts needed to maintain ideal body condition will increase up to 50% more than normal Adult maintenance amounts.
Get your puppy off to a good start with a first and then regular veterinary visits. Keep fresh water available at all times.
When switching your dog's diet, we recommend that it be done gradually over a 5-7 day period.

This puppy food is excellent - no upset stomachs, no diarrhea, and nice, firm stools. Easy to feed, very palatable. Fairly pricey, yet very much worth the price.
I opened the bag and put a cup in my puppy’s bowl and he loved it. Love that I can give him something that is good for him that he likes to eat too.
We have a 10 month old goldendoodle and have battled off and on bouts with soft stool. I decided to try this food to see if it would help. To begin with I ordered a small bag that lasted around 2 weeks or so, in the beginning it was great. No more soft stool, everything seemed to be going great. I ordered a second bag, about a week in, I noticed that he did not seem to want to eat at all. Which is very unlike him, he usually patiently sits by his bowl and waits for meal time. Another week went by and he started just not eating or drinking water. Very unlike him, he is a water dog and would swim in his water bowl if he could. We ended up going to the vet and he had to stay over night for fluids and meds. The conclusion was that he had eaten something that had his stomach upset, his stomach pouch and small intestine were inflamed. So now, over a week later he still was very hesitant to eat this food and would only eat half of his normal serving. I switched foods and 2 days later he is completely back to his normal self. I have no proof that the food had anything to do with it, but he is a very smart dog and I feel that he was not wanting to eat because it was upsetting his tummy. He wouldn't even eat it with peanut butter on top which is his absolute favorite.
Started out with Blue Buffalo and then to Wellness, my 7 month old Rottie still had soft stool and stomach issues. This food changed that! he loves the smaller bites, eventhough he's 90 lbs, and his stoll is finally hard and easy to clean up. we found a winner
I have no problem with the item, it's a great product and has helped with my dogs food allergies. I have an issue with shipping. It says free 1-3 day shipping...I ordered on 9/21 and it's now 9/29 and still no package. This isn't the first time either. I had to go buy food elsewhere because I ran out a couple days ago (when my shipment should've already been here).
Moose loves this food and brand. I love the limited ingredients and know what he is eating every meal.
Our mini schnauzer was given this by the breeder and we have continued to use it. Our puppy loves it.
I bought this brand off reviews so I hope this review can help someone else experiencing similar issues.......We adopted our poodle mix (standard poodle with a splash of bloodhound) on a whim so we frantically went to the store to get him supplies before bringing him home. We started him off on Blue Buffalo Chicken and Rice and even though he enjoyed it, our pup had frequent bouts of diarrhea and constipation even after presumably settling in to his new home. There would be instances where I could quite audibly hear his tummy bubbling and gurgling. Finally after having his first, rather explosive, accident in his kennel, we decided to put him through another diet change. I am grateful we made the change to this particular Natural Balance formula. During his gradual transition, I noticed a pretty quick change in his bathroom habits. He goes more regularly, predictably, and his poops are solid and normal! I am so happy we made the change to Natural Balance for our pup.
Our labradoodle has an extremely sensitive belly. We tried several foods, several different proteins, single and multiple. We were at our wits end with diarrhea- poor baby! Finally got this food and I’ve never been excited to see a dog poop! Hallelujah !
She loves this food went from soft poos to hard pops
