The amounts in the table are intended as guidelines only. The food intake should be adjusted according to the age, weight and activity of your dog. It is important for your dog's health to maintain a proper body weight. Consult a veterinarian for specific weight recommendations. Puppies, and Pregnant or Nursing Females, require 2 - 3 times the Adult amounts. A reduction in food intake is recommended for less active and older dogs. Serve at room temperature. Any unused portion should be covered and refrigerated. Fresh clean water should be available at all times!
When switching your pet's diet, we recommend transitioning from the current diet to any new Natural Balance Formula over a 5 - 7 day period.
Day 1 - 2: 25% Natural Balance Formula, 75% Current Pet Formula Day 3 - 4: 50% Natural Balance Formula, 50% Current Pet Formula Day 5 - 6: 75% Natural Balance Formula, 25% Current Pet Formula Day 7: 100% Natural Balance Formula
If you do not have any of your current formula to mix, reduce the amount of formula fed for the first few days, feeding smaller more frequent meals over time. If your pet is more sensitive to change, please allow 10 - 14 days to fully transition onto the new formula.
How can I limit the ingredients my pet is exposed to?
Feeding formulas with limited ingredients is a great way to minimize their exposure to ingredients. Limited ingredient formulas have a restricted number of protein and carbohydrate sources.
How should I go about trying a limited ingredient diet for my pet?
Food trials on a limited ingredient diet should take place over at least 12 weeks using a novel protein and carbohydrate source that the pet has not had before. No other treats or food items should be fed during these first twelve weeks.
How else can I limit my pet’s exposure to certain ingredients?
Pets that can benefit from a limited ingredient diet should not have unsupervised access to human foods, garbage, or outdoor areas where they can ingest plants.

Poor Quality Control
By MJJM on Sep 13, 2020
My dog has severe allergies, was happy to find this in a local store. The food in the three cans I bought there was nice and solid with bits of potatoes. But when I ordered the same item in a 12 case, like others who complained, I found it to be slop. Some complain it smells bad, but that is subjective. We think it smells just fine! My dog really liked the first 3 cans from the local store, but this, not so much. Now they seem to be making only a 6 ounce can?

Low protein diet
By Precious1 on Oct 8, 2020
My dog requires a lower protein diet and this line of food is an excellent choice. The duck and the chicken varieties are a good choice for dogs with dietary restrictions.

My toy poodle and my Fox Terrior both refused to touch the food after smelling it. Left it there for hours. Still no taste for it.

It was my first time ordering from chewy. It seems I messed up on several items! We have cats and I obviously can't read?? Luckily we have family members who have dogs. They said "THANKS" and were happy with product.

Two stars on reputation
By Chyna on May 3, 2020
This is the second case I have ordered where the product is just too soft. And the second dog to start acting off after eating. the first time around Natural Balance tried to convince me that there is a difference from batch to batch, which is understandable. But this beyond the realm of difference. Maybe they'll get their ducks in a row as it were but until then, I'm done with them.
