The amounts in the table are intended as guidelines only. The food intake should be adjusted according to the age, weight and activity of your dog. It is important for your dog's health to maintain a proper body weight. Consult a veterinarian for specific weight recommendations. Puppies, and Pregnant or Nursing Females, require 2 - 3 times the Adult amounts. A reduction in food intake is recommended for less active and older dogs. Serve at room temperature. Any unused portion should be covered and refrigerated. Fresh clean water should be available at all times!
When switching your pet's diet, we recommend transitioning from the current diet to any new Natural Balance Formula over a 5 - 7 day period.
Day 1 - 2: 25% Natural Balance Formula, 75% Current Pet Formula Day 3 - 4: 50% Natural Balance Formula, 50% Current Pet Formula Day 5 - 6: 75% Natural Balance Formula, 25% Current Pet Formula Day 7: 100% Natural Balance Formula
If you do not have any of your current formula to mix, reduce the amount of formula fed for the first few days, feeding smaller more frequent meals over time. If your pet is more sensitive to change, please allow 10 - 14 days to fully transition onto the new formula.
Feeding formulas with limited ingredients is a great way to minimize their exposure to ingredients. Limited ingredient formulas have a restricted number of protein and carbohydrate sources.
Food trials on a limited ingredient diet should take place over at least 12 weeks using a novel protein and carbohydrate source that the pet has not had before. No other treats or food items should be fed during these first twelve weeks.
Pets that can benefit from a limited ingredient diet should not have unsupervised access to human foods, garbage, or outdoor areas where they can ingest plants.

This food is what my dogs internist has recommended him to eat. He won’t eat food, so this is the food I force feed him. Each case I buy is completely different. From extremely runny to a paste type. I’ve come to terms with it. But this last case has a layer of fat on the top and/or bottom of it. I don’t want to change food because this is sitting well in his belly, but some cases are messier when it comes to feeding than others.
This food was not for us. My dog got very sick and was vomiting for a long time after eating this food. After he became ill we noticed a dark brown residue at the bottom of the can. We bought this product because it was recommended for sensitive stomachs.
Canned Natural Balance Dog Food was right on mark. Older dog and he had major dental. Dry good wasn’t option. Natural Balance offers both in combination he likes Thank you
While I was so happy to know that this was back in production and available for purchase, it is far from the same food/formula as before. After speaking to Natural Balance and knowing what the added ingredients are, I will never feed to my fur girls again. It is pretty scary to see black spots in both the food and can. Not being able to assure me that this is safe, I would never purchase again or recommend to others.
This food is no longer the same formula or texture as before production stopped. It used to be chunky. Now it's almost as runny as water.
Our delivery was fast and everything great!! Customer service is fantastic!
I ordered this because it's low fat, limited ingredients. and NO chicken (one dog is allergic to chicken, beef, and flax). Those are all great things about this item and very hard to find in wet dog food. Sadly neither dog will eat it. Even the one who is not a picky eater. Otherwise I would give this 5 stars.
I’m glad we found these. Our pup is an old boy and has a number of health issues including GI issues. Trying something new can be scary, but we have to do it because we struggle to get him to eat. He transitioned to this with no issues and continues to eat it. We are grateful.
I have no complaints about this product or Chewy's excellent selection of foods for my Sheba. Vet recommended!
I was looking for a replacement for the Prescription Royal Canin Duck when it was out of stock. The ingredients listed for Natural Balance were very similar to Royal Canin and my vet recommended for us to try it. After a few months, my 11 yr old English Springer Spaniel developed a serious case of Pancreatitis. We are now using Royal Canin Liver and he is doing well.
