I wish this would have shown up in better shape, it’s broken in two corners which prevents the screws from locking into place. We basically had to glue it together to use it since sending it back and waiting for another is not an option for us right now. It’s very wobbly and the connections are very cheap plastic. I was so excited for this too.
I purchased this crate back in September to have a nicer looking crate in my small apartment. As we assembled it was kind of flimsy and as mentioned the screws to hold it together are plastic. After a few months the hinges on the door broke off, pieces of the plastic cracked easily, the metal on the door bent and eventually my dog was able to know the door completely off. This crate worked well for a short time and the price does not justify how quickly it fell apart. Very upset that I will likely have to go back to a metal wire crate. Much sturdier and more affordable.
I have been looking everywhere for a nice, affordable furniture style crate. Received this one today. This crate is okay, and I don’t mean to discourage you from trying it, but it isn’t the best of quality. The screws are plastic and are sure to fall out eventually. The latch is accessible from the inside (depending on the size of your pup and it’s brain cells) meaning they can probably escape if they try. Also, we are moving soon and I am concerned it may not hold up. It’s nice looking, but the quality doesn’t seem worth the price if I am being honest. May just end up building one from a thrifted end table…
Nice looking. Easy to put together. My puppy was trained in a metal crate then moved him to this. He loves it! Was disappointed they don't price match. I found the same one on wayfair for 70 dollars less the day I received it and already put it together. No I didn't want to take it apart and return it.
I have bought this crate twice now and both times it has broken. First time was within a few days or week of having it. My dog is 7lbs, it’s not like he’s trying to bust out. The hatch that closes it is what breaks first and the side “screws” also kept popping out.
This is a great crate for calm dogs. My dog, however, is a crazy, lively dog that wants to bark and attack dogs we pass in the car. She literally claws the doors, which is why I bought the crate. We lost one screw and one of the latches broke the first week. Thankfully, the company provided an extra screw which is still in place and I put a king-size pillow between the crate door and the car door. So, it works!
So our 25lb Whoodle was able to bite through the bars and the wood piece they are attached to and get out. I really, really liked this crate because of the aesthetics and how well it was built; but, our dog got out despite NOT being an aggressive chewer (never chewed on anything but his toys and bones). He's never been an aggressive dog to have been concerned about him breaking out while we were gone. I was wrong. He was able to get his snout through the bars to bite them and gain enough leverage to bite, chew and pull on, weakening the wood enough for it to splinter apart. *We purchased this on January 17, 2021. He's had until today to work on breaking the integrity of the crate. It's a good purchase if you know your dog will not try to break out; because, it's not hard for them to do. Just time and a will to do it.
I just purchased this crate for my doodle. I’ve had it three days. It is very poorly made and cheaply made. I can home today to this..she is not a crazy dog or pushy so obviously this door was very easy to break
I love the design and the functionality of this crate but doesn't not hold up. I purchased the crate the beginning of December and the dog is already broken that my dog can get out of it. It is February.
I have this for my pomchi, she can escape, I mean the latch comes undone every time I tighten it, she only shakes the door for 10 seconds & BAM opens! It’s just a hook that slides down, so I mean, it’s not for a dog who tries to get out. I got it because it’s appealing, & also my dog isn’t as exposed in this one, but it doesn’t hold her at all. Holds my pitbull just fine, tho he’s old & doesn’t try to escape.
