My dogs have never had a problem with flea and tick treatment in the past. I prefer the topical treatment so I decided to try this product. I applied it as directed in a line down the back. My French bulldog had a severe skin reaction to it and we gave him a bath to try and remove the product. His skin was spasming so severely he couldn't get comfortable or sleep well. Even over a week since applying, he's sensitive when you try and pet him and seems uncomfortable. He is starting to improve though. Chewy was great about returning product.
I bathed both of my dogs with Dawn dish soap the day before i applied this to them. But, it must be these Southern fleas, it didn't even touch any of my dogs fleas. One of my dogs is allergic to fleas and has scabs and scratches along with raised bumps from the fleas biting her. We haven't, knock on wood, had problems with ticks so I don't know if this will help either.
I am happy with Nextstar. Arrived non-damaged, looking like it just came from a normal shop. It had instructions printed on the inside of the package. Used it once so far, but was very happy that it did not give my sheltie any irritation. Looks like it's working. She scratches WAY less.
I recently started using the Nextstar Flea & Tick Topical for Dogs and I'm quite surprised at how well it works. I was selected to receive this product for free as part of a Free Sample Program in exchange for my honest review. This Product is similar to other products I have used, but better I think, because this product starts to kill the fleas and ticks in as little as five minutes... And it Really does! The package comes as a three month supply, three tubes of clear ointment. It's easy to apply... Just spread your pets fur between the shoulder blades and apply the product down the middle of his back, from his neck to his tail. It's that easy. No bad, overpowering smell and my pets have had no reaction. This Nextstar product seems to be working Great thus far. I do recommend after you apply the ointment, you take your pets outside to let the fleas come off outside instead of in your house. I will buy and continue to use this product when it runs out. I can highly recommend this product. I'm very happy with the results.
I was a bit skeptical when I received this product because Ive always used Frontline but I was asked to try this product. Let me tell you I was absolutely blown away at how fast the product began working. In the last few weeks here in Alabama the fleas have just gotten worse. Im sure its because we didnt really have a winter. Those suckers came back with a vengeance!! My poor baby was scratching the day before yesterday and I found that odd since he got his other flea topical medication 27 days prior. However Id been noticing the past few months that the medication weve been using for a few years hasnt been lasting as long as it used to. Or maybe its just that the fleas have gotten super powers. Either way I put the application on him at 9 pm and the consistency of the medication made it super simple to get into his skin even through his thick fur. Ive had issues with another medicine I used because it was super oily and thick that it would cling on to his fur for dear life. Not Nextstar it went directly onto his skin and barely left any trace of the medicine itself. Within 45 mins my baby boy stopped itching and was snoring on his bed without a care in the world. We are now on day 4 and Ive checked everyday just to see if any fleas jumped on him while he was outside and I havent found a single flea! Now I should mention that hes an inside dog but goes outside four or five hours a day. I dont know if its the humidity or what but the fleas that get are in Alabama dont give a toot about the solution thats sprayed on our grass to get rid of them they just multiply. So its pertinent that I have a good topical medication to keep them off my babies! Ive already ordered two packages one for small dog and one for my two cats. Im super excited to get them in and make sure my other babies are as comfortable and free from uninvited fondling fleas trying to make their self At home. So we will evict them with Nextstar! The cheaper better option!
I am so happy Nexstar sent me their Flea and Tick treatment for free to try! We have been looking for something that would work well with our dogs and I think we found it. We got the three month supply but will be purchasing more when we finish these. We live in a rural area and my dogs love to explore but it causes a lot of issues when they get into an area where they can pick up fleas or ticks. You have to be so careful because an infestation happens so quickly. My Brody is like a magnet for them but with Nexstar we don't have to worry anymore. With the first dose applied we noticed a difference right away. He wasn't scratching and didn't seem like he was irritated. By day 3 it was like he never had any issues. IF you are looking for something fast and effective I definitely recommend it!!
This did nothing on all of my dogs. I went ahead and order proper stuff from the vet after trying this.
Nextstar flea and tick topical for dogs 23-44 lbs. I tried this product as part of a free sample program. I have a goldendoodle dog that is about 40 lbs. I had been using flea and tick chewables purchased through the vet but these have been costly, about three times more expensive than Nextstar. I was a little leery at first on trying topicals as I have heard horror stories about other topicals by other companies having serious side effects. I did research and read reviews about Nextstar and did not see serious side effects so decided to try this. As far as I can tell, it works just as well as the expensive vet products. My dog did not have any side effects. It was easy to apply, not quite as easy as a chewable, but I got it on. It is a monthly application so as long as you apply it monthly you should not have problems with ticks and fleas.
Thanks to next star I received a free sample in exchange for my honest review! I have a Boston terrier and a corgi and we live in a neighborhood with lots of other pets. Im constantly worried about my pets catching fleas from the animals coming into our yard. I was so relieved to know that next star starts working 5 minutes after application! So far it has worked great. My dogs usually scratch when I apply other brands but they did not with this brand. I will be using this for their future treatments and will recommend to my friends. This package has 3 months of medicine, so fewer shopping trips (and convenient!). It is super easy to use and pretty much mess free, which is a plus. My dog did not have fleas or ticks, so there weren't any bugs to kill (or see dead in the fur after application), but I believe it will continue working to defend her from future ticks and fleas! *I received this as a free sample/promotion, but my review is unbiased
