burned skin
Made her really ouchy on the 3rd day of it being on her skin and now she is missing hair and licking like crazy.
Nextstar flea treatment
I purchased Nextstar after reading positive reviews on this site. Most had the added caveat that they were given the product in exchange for a review. That should have been a huge red flag for me, but I had to try. The product does not work at all. I will not purchase again and I definitely would not recommend that anyone else give it a try.
Seems To Be Working
I tried this because the other stuff is too expensive and I can't afford it. So I thought I would try this and so far it seems to be working. I was getting ticks off of them and now I'm not. I hope it's working so I can buy more.
Love it for my husky
I received this product for testing as part of a free product sample program. I love the product. I usually buy the Capstar pills but excited about this product. I have 3 large dogs 2 german shepherds and a husky. The husky loves to dig and roll around the dirt so fleas can be a problem around the house. The husky usually spits out the pills so a product like this works better for her. Excited to keep trying it. Will have to order so.e more with flea season around the corner.
Fast and effective at killing fleas
I live in a warm climate where fleas and ticks are a year round concern for my animals, and my active and adventurous dog is usually the carrier for bringing them inside, to our other animals. I've used flea collars in the past which are great for keeping fleas off our indoor animals, but didn't seem to be a strong enough deterent for keeping them off our dog. This product caught my eye because of its claims to not just repel fleas but actively eliminate the ones already on your dog. And it did just that. I'm pleased with how quickly and efficiently it worked. So why 4 stars? Well, it did cause some redness/ irratation for my dog, and I had to keep an eye after application to make sure he wasn't trying to scratch at the application site and then lick it off his paws... This is pretty stardard for these kinds of topical products though, so I knew to expect the redness and irratation, and to keep an eye on him. Overall, I would recommend this product if you have a pet with a high flea burden and you are looking to get on top of it quickly, without the stress on your animal of repeated medicated baths, etc. This product worked quickly and efficiently. I received this product as a free trial for my honest review, through a free sample program.
Easy flea and tick prevention for my big dog!
Around this time of year it starts getting warm here in Texas and the bugs start multiplying. I received this product to try out for my large lab mix. He loves being outside and we often take him to the woods and beach. I found that it was easy to use the tube of topical ointment on my dog without it being messy. It was quick and he didn't even notice what was going on. After a week my dog is flea and tick free. I haven't noticed him scratching at all which is a great sign. He is an even happier and dog now after using the Nextstar Flea and Tick medicine. I am satisfied with the results and would definitely recommend this product for flea and tick prevention.
Great Product, Real Review
I received this product as a free sample to leave a review, now let me start by saying. I have a pure bred blue nose pitbull, which we all know are usually sensitive to everything. I have been fighting these fleas for a while now, my dog has been itching a lot. I applied NEXTSTAR and gave it some time, no irritation to my dog (Mushy btw). The next day , I could already see she was itching a lot less. I will follow the recommendations of the product and continue treatment. Hear is hoping the fight will be over soon! From What I have seen already , I would definitely buy this product, super easy to apply and much more effective than other things I have tried.
Highly Recommend
I received this product for testing as part of a free product sample program. We have been using another brand internally for years for our 3 dogs, a 12 yr old Golden, an 8 yr old Heeler and a 5ish yr old Pit-HuaHuaSky. We have 1 dog that has become picky and were happy to find an external treatment as we have a ton of wildlife and mosquitoes in our yard and surrounding area. Applying these spot treatments was easy and not messy. The dogs were not left greasy afterwards either. We noticed the mosquitoes did not land on the dogs and no reactions occurred. Effective and safe for our babies. Highly recommend!
Much better than other similar products
We have tried nearly every major brand of flea and tick topical treatment for dogs that's available online and in retail stores. This is by far the easiest and least messy F&T treatment we've applied to our pup. My wife has a 50 lbs German Shepard + Australian Shepard mixed breed service animal and we've had issues here and there with other F&T applicators in the past. This is the first product that we've used that left AMPLE room from where you cut the applicator and where the liquid is stored. Other brands are too close to the liquid inside and we almost always get a little bit on our fingers or have to rush to apply it because it starts dripping out. This is also the first treatment we've used that didn't cause our doggo to shake after application. I don't know if the other treatment brands are too liquidy or too heavy/thick, but our dog always shook after application. I don't think she even realized it was applied to her back. Another nice thing about the packaging is that there is a little area where you can write the date the treatment was applied. We'll definitely be using this brand moving forward. *Please note. I did receive this product as part of a free sample program. But there is no expectation that I have to give a product a certain rating. This is my genuine rating based on my experience and I have given products low ratings in the past. NextStar F&T topical for dogs is truly an exceptional product that I highly recommend.
Not enough time to review
I received this product for free in return for an honest and unbiased review. February isn't an active month in my area for flea and tick issues. I did go ahead and administer to my lab/shepherd and no adverse reactions are to note and it was very easy to put on her. I will continue to try it in the coming months and will go back and update my review, if I'm able, once I know how it actually works. I cannot in good faith say "yes, I would recommend" bc I honestly don't know yet.
