My 10-pound dog Millie really seems to like this puzzle so far, and it seems to be at an appropriate level of difficulty for her (this is her first level two Nina Ottoson puzzle). The only issue is that she can easily pull the tops of the little containers off of their hinges. It’s easy to fix, but another dog might be into chewing them. Be aware that this happens with even small dogs. Chewers and bigger dogs will DEFINITELY rip this thing apart during each playtime. Supervise supervise!!

I was a little hesitant on this as my dogs can be a little slow or helpless when it comes to puzzle toys. All three were super interested though, and I had to give two of them other toys to distract them while Cinco (my 55lb ACD mix) handled the puzzle. I filled it up twice for him because he enjoyed it so much and figured it out relatively quickly on his own. This is a good starter puzzle, and it was easy to clean (and dry) - I hand washed/rinsed all the pockets and propped it up to dry on the counter without issue. Will definitely be using it again and trying to make it more challenging

Awesome puzzle toy! "Brute-force" dogs might master this too fast.

A definite favorite in our collection! Sturdy, well-made, and easy to wash on account of the sliding pieces/removable trap doors. This was bought with our 13lbs Berkley in mind - he's a "mini" dachshund that LOVES food and works his hardest to get it. It was easiest to show him the sliding pieces and let him "work out" the rest; the trap doors came easy, after pawing a couple of times, while the bones took a bit longer but was something eventually caught onto as well. For the first few sessions it worked wonderfully, but I presume he realized how much easier it was to "shove" his nose through everything and going back as needed, effectively cutting down his solving time from 5 minutes to 2. To counter this, I now spread less kibble across a higher number of rounds. And per usual, his brother Cocoa learned how to solve it in a similar, albeit more regulated fashion; it can occupy him for up to 7 minutes.

FUN TO WATCH!

LOVE this. My pup is pretty smart, and enjoyed this enrichment activity. Fits at least 1 cup of kibble, which is what I feed my dog. It was quite fun to watch her

LOVE this. My pup is pretty smart, and enjoyed this enrichment activity. Fits at least 1 cup of kibble, which is what I feed my dog. It was quite fun to watch her take on the puzzle. Silly girl even turned the whole thing upside down to ensure she got all her treats and food out of there! The pieces come off & slide easily and can be put back on for cleaning.

My doggies are big girls and this puzzle has stood up to many uses in spite of their rough treatment. My new pup taught the older dog how it works and now it’s a competition to see who can get the treats faster. Super easy to clean and snap back together for the next time.

Awesome!!

Max took to this right away as his favorite game is hide n seek with his treats. I use chicken bits made by Blue buffalo which are soft and he loves moving the lids

You should buy this for your dog, not to entertain them, not to enrich their lives... But to EXPOSE them for being smarter than they want you to think. My little Cava Tzu, who tries to convince me on a regular basis that he does not know how to sit or use stairs, figured this thing out in like 4 days. He still enjoys it though and it was easier to wash than I expected. Definitely don't leave them alone with it and you may have to help them (try putting the bones in propped up sideways) and cheer them on at first. But anyway, I guess I'll get the next level up for my little manipulator.

I was surprised how quickly my dog caught on and was able to open the compartments. I wish there had been a video to accompany the item on the website. It's easier to make it harder by adding the bones. My dog loves it, well, probably the treats.

My dog failed at a level 1 puzzle, and this one is listed as level 2. I removed the white bones (which another photograph/owner had shown chewed up) so he could focus on sliding and lifting to reach items in the other compartments. It was a great success. When he got frustrated he came and sought reassurance from me, got it and returned to the puzzle.

Good idea but has some flaws

My pup thought it was great fun to do but also thinks it’s great fun to take the flip lids off the puzzle and chew them up. :/ They come off super easy and once the hinges get chewed, the lids won’t go back on. At least I can still hide some treats under the sliding parts so it isn’t going in the garbage yet.
