I have two GSD mixed breeds (smarty pants) and I cant say enough how much I love this. I have looked at and tried so many other options but this one consistently wins. It keeps my dogs busy, mentally stimulated, and I use it either indoors or out (I prefer to use it outdoors because it is so loud against the wood floors). My ONLY complaint (and its a big one) is that I wish you could unscrew the ball somehow for quicker filling. I put kibble in mine and trying to funnel those pieces through the holes is time consuming (and messy). Otherwise I love this; I bought TWO! One for each dog.
Treat Tumbler Puzzle Dog Ball

My boys love their Outward Hound Treat Tumble Puzzle Game Dog Toy! I have a 5 year old corgi and a 5 month old great dane, and they both have a blast with it. It works well and how I expected. The only thing that I wish were different about it is how you put the treats in. I assumed the ball would unscrew into two hemispheres, but you have to put the treats in through the two openings--which can be a little bit of a pain when you have 2 dogs losing their minds having to wait for it.

It's been almost a month since I bought this toy and, my dog, a Rottweiler mix, does not use it. It is noisy (it is a hard material against the floor, plus cookies rolling around inside), so, I think it scares her. I also don't think she "gets it" even though I have pushed it around for her many times, and cookies have dropped out. The cookies do not drop out nearly as often as I would like, and the ball requires quite a push. I do not recommend buying it.
Should have read reviews before ordering

Like others have said, the description is not accurate. This ball is hard and doesn’t bounce. Even when I taped over one of the holes the treats just fell out. The main thing is it was too big for my dog. The noise it made rolling on the wood floor scared him and there wasn’t any way to grip it. I got a much smaller softer version at Homegoods that he loves for 1/3 the price.
Great puzzle to keep pup busy!

My puppy loves this! She’s figured out that the more she plays with it, the more food comes out of it. I’ve started to feed her dinner kibble through this puzzle which slows down her eating and gives her more brain time to earn her food. It is noisy on hardwood floor, but definitely a great tool to have as a dog mom.
Food/treats fall out too easily
on Jan 13, 2021
I have two small dogs, a 7lbs chihuahua and a 18lbs mix. Their food and treats were way too small for this and fell out really easily making it less stimulating. It's also pretty big for them (size small) and they get intimidated by it on the wood floor. Maybe for medium/large breeds the small size would work better.
Simple ball toy

My puppy enjoys eating kibble and treats out of this. As others mentioned, the holes are pretty big and the food falls out easily, so it doesn't occupy her for long. I also have a hard time getting much kibble into it, it doesn't open, so you have to funnel the kibble into the hole. This also means it's hard to clean. It doesn't really bounce, it just rolls. Not a bad toy, but there may be better similar options to this one.
3 month old Shih Tzu

It took him a few minutes to figure out how to move it since it was a bit large for him. Once he got the hang of it, he couldn’t get enough! He loves it and keeps him occupied. It also helps him eat slower.
Chewy is great.

Sent a bunch of dog toys for Christmas. Products were all as advertised, all arrived on time. Chewy has been great for all products for my dogs, cat and Friends’s dogs and cats. I only use Chewy.

Omg this little treat ball is so great. My puppy took only 20mins to learn how to use. He’s a small breed. So his kibble easily falls out of the holes. He has a tantrum when it goes empty!!! (Lol, makes for great family videos) Use for lunch or dinner to burn up energy on days of bad weather and apartment living.
