Store unopened Novolin N vials in the refrigerator at 36 F to 46 F (2 C to 8 C). Unopened vials may be used until the expiration date printed on the label, if they have been stored in the refrigerator. Unopened vials should be thrown away after 42 days, if they are stored at room temperature up to 77 F (25 C).

After vials have been opened:

Opened Novolin N vials can be stored at room temperature up to 77°F (25°C). Do not refrigerate. Throw away all opened Novolin N vials after 42 days, even if they still have insulin left in them.

How do I order my pet's prescription medications?

Do I need to have a prescription on hand before I order a prescription item?

It is not required to have a written prescription on hand when you place your order, but Chewy Pharmacy must have a patient-specific prescription from a licensed veterinarian on file before it can dispense a medication. At checkout, simply select “I want Chewy to contact my vet” and we will contact your veterinarian on your behalf to get your pet’s prescription. Mailing in a prescription will likely lead to longer ship times.

Do prescription medications require authorization from my veterinarian?

Yes. Chewy Pharmacy can only dispense medication with a valid, patient-specific prescription from a licensed veterinarian.

Will you contact my veterinarian directly to approve my prescription medication?

Yes. If you have selected for us to contact your veterinarian, we will contact them to obtain a valid, patient-specific prescription.

How long does it take to process my prescription after the pharmacy receives it?

Prescriptions are typically processed by the pharmacy within 24-48 hours after receipt of a valid prescription form the veterinarian.

Can I set up auto refills for medications that treat a chronic condition?

Yes. If you have valid refills on file with Chewy Pharmacy, you can set up an Autoship for medications.
