About UltiCare VetRX

UltiCare VetRx Insulin Syringes

Pets are important members of the family, so naturally, you want the very best for them. Optimize care for your pets with diabetes with UltiCare VetRx Insulin Syringes. They help provide comfortable and accurate dosing of insulin to help you better manage your pet’s diabetes. Available in boxes or in the UltiGuard Safe Pack, a dual-purpose system that dispenses new syringes and provides safe disposal for used syringes all in one, so you don’t have to hassle with a separate sharps container.

Choosing the Right Insulin Syringe

Your veterinarian may prescribe U-40 or U-100 insulin for your pet, and it is critical to use the corresponding syringe for proper dosing.

U-40 Insulin Syringes

The “U” refers to units of active insulin, and U-40 insulin has 40 units of insulin per milliliter of liquid. This more soluble type of insulin is designed specifically for cats and dogs, and you must always use a U-40 insulin syringe, which is smaller and has a red cap, to administer it.

U-100 Insulin Syringes

U-100 insulin has 100 units of insulin per liquid milliliter, so it has 2.5 times the insulin as U-40 insulin by volume. If your vet prescribes this type of insulin, it is essential to administer it using U-100 syringes, which are larger and have an orange cap, to ensure proper dosing.

The Quality You Expect

From plunger to tip, UltiCare VetRx insulin syringes are precision engineered to provide superior comfort for your pet.

Human Grade

UltiCare VetRx insulin syringes are human grade, premium quality syringes made for use with U-40 or U-100 insulin.

Superior Comfort

The tri-bevel tip is micro polished and silicone lubricated for easy insertion and effortless glide.

Easy and Accurate Dosing

A clear barrel with bold scale markings and large barrel flanges provides accurate dosing and a good grip for control.

Step-by-Step Guides

UltiCare VetRx offers a suite of diabetes care resources to help you manage your pet’s diabetes with confidence.

Designed With Safety in Mind

The UltiCare VetRx UltiGuard Safe Pack allows you to easily dispense premium quality UltiCare syringes and dispose of them safely once you’re done. Each UltiGuard Safe Pack contains 100 insulin syringes. After using a syringe, simply pop it in the top, then drop and roll it safely out the way. There’s no need to spend more on a separate sharps container with this convenient, affordable solution that helps keep your home and community safe.

An All-In-One Solution

The UltiGuard Safe Pack features an upper and lower chamber. The lower chamber dispenses new insulin syringes, while the upper chamber provides a safe place to discard used ones. After depositing a used syringe in the top, turn the wheel on the side of the container to secure it safely away. Once you’ve used and disposed of all the syringes in the Safe Pack, follow state and local guidelines for proper disposal.

About UltiCare VetRx

They make premium insulin syringes you can order on their own or as part of the UltiGuard Safe Pack, a convenient all-in-one dispensing and disposal solution that helps keep healthcare providers, pet owners, pets, and communities safe from accidental needle stick injuries. UltiCare VetRx insulin syringes are made specifically for use with either U-100 or U-40 insulin and come in 3/10cc, 1/2cc and 1cc sizes.

I’ve ordered these same needles for three years now and have had no issues. While the brand hasn’t changed, every now and then there have been minor changes in the needles themselves to where one wonders if the manufacturer changed. The needles with this latest order are disappointing. When using the plunger to fill the syringe, more often than not the meds stop filling at 5 units and you are left with having to expel all the meds back into the vial and redrawing multiple times to get the syringe with more than 5 mls of meds. Really hoping the next batch is like they used to be.

I’m very disappointed, this is the second time I’ve received a box of faulty syringes. The first batch caused my cat to receive an incomplete insulin dose, and now the new syringes are malfunctioning again. They don’t pull the Lantus properly, and the insulin releases as soon as the needle penetrates my cat’s skin. This is unacceptable for a medical product especially one used to care for a pet with diabetes. Quality control needs serious improvement.

This company has updated the product and not in a good way. the protection caps at both ends are much thicker. The cap is now much harder to refit without destroying the needle. The needle itself has also been changed. Now when you put it in the insulin pen it bends if you are not careful. I am hoping I just got a bad box. Bought 5 boxes I think so this will be disappointing if all boxes are the same. Definitely thrown out unused at least 10 at this point. Lastly a needle should easily draw the liquid in these now do the opposite it takes at least 5 to 6 goes to get the liquid in. Been using this brand since my cat was diagnosed but may have to look round for other manufacturers they are now that bad.

Great price, easy to use

These needles have markings for 1/2 units of insulin which is helpful. They are well made and superior to what I was getting at my drug store

Nice and compact

These syringes are easy to use. The numbers are on the smaller size (Thank God for eye glasses), but work fine, especially for fine tuning the dosage with 1/2

Easy to use

They were much easier to use than the ones from CVS. It’s easier to see the numbers on the syringe also.

To the Wonderful Person, On Saturday, August 2, 2025 l called customer care to request expedited shipping of the U-Line Syringes. I did not mail the prescription quickly enough and it had arrived only two days prior. The gentleman l spoke with was extremely sympathetic and concerned. He asked how many needles Dux had and called about expediting the order to arrive on Monday , rather than Wednesday. He made no guarantee on this request but certainly made a concerted effort to. I am incredibly grateful to this man, the other employees of Chewy and ULine for keeping Dux healthy. She is an 11 year old rescue cat who developed diabetes over a year ago and Chewy has been integral to her quality of life. Thank you for your support, kindness and extreme dedication to our four legged family members.

These syringes are DANGEROUS as they are almost a full 1/2 unit off between syringes. This makes a big difference causing inconsistent dosing and they need to recall this new design. Had been using these since last year and they changed the design a month or two back, obviously using a new supplier that cut all quality controls. See my picture to note the large difference between two of these syringes, both at 1/2 unit dose.
