Will this be made available in the smaller cans? My cat is very picky and only likes food right after it’s opened and portions are too large. I’d need the pate, not the smaller canned food in gravy.

Answer by ChewyAug 30, 2019
At this time, the manufacturer only makes this food in the 5.5 ounce can.

Would like to be 100% positive. My cat was diagnosed as diabetic this week. My understanding is he should not have potato's or corn starch, this foods new formula has both. (No potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn starches or peas.)

Answer by ChewyAug 25, 2019
Due to your pet's diagnosed condition, we recommend consulting your Veterinarian to see what would be a good fit for your pet's current treatment plan.

This recipe has helped my diabetic cat for a year now and made his numbers balanced; however, the smell of this food is awful and lingers around (but that is more of a me issue than anything). The only downside is that this food isn't compatible with my cat's new kidney disease diagnosis. Also, he tends to get tired of this recipe and won't clean his dish.

My cat sniffs it and walks away, not matter what I try to get him to eat it, he has no desire to eat it. I even tried letting my other cat try it (who doesn't have diabetes) and she would not eat it either. I'm not sure why they won't eat it?!

Finicky cat loves the food.

I was surprised to find that Patterson actually loved the wet food. I am grateful that what he needs to eat is something he looks forward to eating!

product used be firm and able to use divider with it in order to give my cat the recommended amount (1/4) segment. Past two shipments, it is mushy and watery , runs together when I try to use divider. Contacted Chewy , they wanted me to provide serial # but this was on the plastic covering of case and unable to read it after opening the case. What is Hills Science Diet doing with their formula now?!!

Well, my cat doesn’t much enjoy this food and I wish they made it in a salmon flavor or something. The consistency is a little different and it settles some. I currently give her a quarter of a can plus half a 3 ounce can of other food she likes the taste of. This food helps her blood sugar and body be well which is why it’s important she continues to eat it. It’s a noticeable difference and one to be thankful for. I just make sure she gets about the amount of calories she needs from this and the other combined. I also feed the M/D kibble as treats after her insulin shot. This adds to the calories and she likes them. We don’t feed too many of them since dry makes her need to drink even more and that was already increased with diabetes despite being on only wet food. I still give 5 stars because it helps her overall and is our go to for diabetic management food, even after trying almost all the other vet recommended choices. I like that it has meat and not soy protein too.

My cat is a very picky eater and she just did not like this prescription diet food item. Based on what she is eating, I think it is the liver that does not appeal to her. I guess it is an issue of just trying out different wet foods when you need prescription foods.
